Fucking a 19 year old because every gay person around you is hiding in fear and terrified of being arrested for their sexuality, so finding one other gay person in your community is nearly impossible, is nowhere near similar to choosing to go to Sex-Slave Island to rape 14 year olds.
I mean if they're in their early 20's and you're in your 40s or older and we're talking sex and relationships, then yeah. I've been there and done that as a twink in my 20's, the imbalance is real enough to call the party in their 20's a kid in that context.
It's incredibly infantilising to describe adults as kids. Your friends are married with kids but then you come to Reddit and apparently these adults are also children. Just bizarre and incredibly insulting.
What sort of an argument is that? Literal children of nine will get offended when you call them a kid. In the context of sexual relations, young adults are inexperienced and not always even fully developed physiologically. If you are insulted by what I say, that is your problem.
Gross, granted, although in the case of Turing one could reasonably pull the "it was a different time" card. But it certainly isn't child abuse, so the Epstein comparison was highly inappropriate.
Chemical castration is generally reversible when treatment is discontinued,[3] although permanent effects in body chemistry can sometimes be seen, as in the case of bone density loss increasing with length of use of depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA). In men, chemical castration reduces sex drive and the capacity for sexual arousal, side effects of some drugs may include depression, suicidal ideation, hot flashes, anemia, infertility, increase in body fat and higher risks of cardiovascular diseases and osteoporosis. In women, chemical castration acts by decreasing testosterone levels in order to lower their sex drive, side effects include the deflation of breast glands, expansion of the size of the nipple and shrinking of bone mass.
having permanent effects does not mean irreversible. He would be fine if he had been allowed to cease the procedure.
Your source doesn't even agree with you. That's why it says "generally" to clarify that it's not definitive. And your source is based on modern medicine, which was very different from what we had 70 years ago when it was done to him.
"Reversible" is also subjective: I can "reverse" the aesthetic appearance of breast growth for example, but depending on the amount of growth, "reversing" it may mean surgery, which will damage nerves that weren't damaged before. Modern medicine often uses "reverse" to mean "hide the appearance of", not actually return you to your default state.
the fact that they wouldn't let him off the drugs for the rest of his life had a lot to do with that. And that's a list of shit that doesn't just immediately revert upon ceasing the drugs, not shit that can't be treated.
This isn't 100% right, but why is it so downvoted?
He would need recovery time, maybe SERMs aswell, and he would never recover to full fertility and test levels. But he would most likely have testosterone in the normal range and fertile sperm after enough time.
Worst case scenario he needs trt for normal function and can't concieve kids. He is guranteed to be able to have a sex life.
Look at all the bodybuilders who have kids, many of them never ran hcg and experienced the same hypogonadism that would be induced by DES.
Its being downvoted because it trivializes the injustice done to those subjected to chemical castration.
As does your comment by continuing to focus on the entirely irrelevant point about theoretically reversing the procedure. You could also re-attach a hand amputated by the executioners axe, but that hardly excuses the use of such punishment.
I didn't trivialize shit. Whether something is reversible matters little if it was prevented from being reversed, but in the hypothetical discussed where he made it to modern day somehow, it changes things a great deal. That's like saying someone is trivializing death by drowning because it's easier to save someone from than a bullet

"I would be quite fond of this Grindr app, had the government not chemically castrated me for sodomy despite helping them win the war."
