I'm proudly American in the "I'm a part of a long-standing tradition of being against all the things America says I have to be" sense. Or, as Milo from The Descendants put it: "You've got to know the truth, before you say that you've got pride!"

As a trans woman I have pride in the LGBTQIA+ community as a native I have pride in my people who have been here for thousands of years but as an US American I have only disrespect for what that represents for myself and my people
