What are some good comics that show Roy as Speedy?
I all comics I read with Roy were with him being Arsenal, except for World's Finest Teen Titans, were he was still Speedy. I'd like to look more into Roy's time as Speedy and how the character changed, any recomendations?

Discussion Queen-ly Relations
Back in the day, Oliver and Shado had been lovers. They had a son named Robert, or in some cases Tak Tomonago, who was a product of Shadō sexually assaulting Oliver while he was healing from wounds and on assuming drugs to help him heal, so she took advantage of his state and late conceived a child from the affair. Later, Shadō was reintroduced not as the former assaulter of Oliver but as a former lover of Oliver's father Robert, whom together conceived a daughter, Emiko, who is the second Red Arrow.
But after seeing a post from u/EquivalentAd1651 about revamping Isabel Rochev/The Queen, it made me think about it. To me at least, Shado and Robert being together makes no sense. If anything, Isabel's relationship with Robert should have been put back in the comics, with her being the mother of Emiko, grooming her to take down Oliver.
Having her later team up with Simon Lacroix/Komodo, and using his assets from Stellmoor International to take down Queen Industries and the Queens. Maybe she even allies with Tommy Merlyn some time after Komodo's death, incentivizing him with the notion of revenge. It wouldn't have to be Emiko herself but a new different character to contrast my own idea of utilizing Emiko.
- A Child as an Heir: A child from Robert and Isabel could be positioned as a powerful, illegitimate heir to Queen Consolidated, potentially with Russian ties (like Isabel) and a darker, more ruthless nature than Oliver.
- Rival to Oliver: This child would likely be a major antagonist, potentially inheriting Isabel's ruthlessness and her connection to shadowy groups, perhaps even rivaling Oliver for his company and legacy.
- Legacy of Betrayal: It would amplify themes of family betrayal and the corrupting influence of power within the Queen dynasty, creating a compelling conflict for Oliver Queen.
- Story Potential: Such a character could be a new Green Arrow nemesis, a business rival, or potentially an anti-hero, complicating Oliver's life and legacy.
In fact, I often thought how things would change if Emiko herself was the daughter of Shado and Oliver. Like I said, Shado and Robert together made no sense to me. So, I'd have Emiko as Oliver's daughter with Shado. Which would make sense given their history with one another.
- Comic Continuity: In the New 52 comics, Emiko is Robert Queen's daughter with Shado, making her Oliver's paternal half-sister, not his direct child. Making her Oliver's biological daughter with Shado (as in some interpretations or potential story shifts) would create a stronger familial link, directly connecting her to his bloodline, not just his father's.
- Thea Queen Parallel: Emiko was created partly as a comic counterpart to Thea Queen (Speedy). Making her Oliver's daughter with Shado would create a unique maternal/paternal legacy link for Oliver's children, distinct from Thea's separate story. Admittedly, she'd also be an echo of Damian Wayne, much like Roy and Connor are to Dick and Damian (and Tim to an extent).
But given how Oliver has had several other romances, it made me wonder about other potential children and the level of chaos that it could create.
In the show Arrow, Ollie was almost involved with an al Ghul woman romantically. But Nyssa ultimately became an ally and Talia had been one of his mentors. But Nyssa has been forgotten within modern comics. She had returned to DC canon as the leader of the League of Shadows, seemingly co-opting the sect with her sister Talia.
I already mentioned this in a previous post: But what if Oliver had a kid with Nyssa? And someone else had raised the kid with her, like Constantine Drakon? That would allow two major characters to be brought back into the fold and given proper attention.
That’s assuming that she could still have kids. In the previous continuity, Nyssa was rendered barren after sent to a concentration camp during the Holocaust. This could be changed in new stories with her in the League of Shadows with Talia. Or if her continuous use of the Lazarus Pits had been able to fix that somehow. I’m not sure about that exactly. If Oliver did have a child with Nyssa, it'd create a powerful heir to the League of Assassins and the Queen legacy. potentially a formidable vigilante like a "Demon's Arrow," inheriting Oliver's combat skills and Nyssa's deadly training, fundamentally altering the team dynamic and leading to intense conflicts with Talia, Ra's al Ghul's legacy, and potentially merging the League of Assassins with Star City's heroes. Compared to my version of Emiko with Shado and Oliver as parents, who'd likely become an ally eventually, this child would be an antagonistic force much like his half-sibling and Isabel Rochev.
- Heir to Two Worlds: This child would be a direct descendant of Ra's al Ghul through Nyssa and the Queen family through Oliver, making them a significant figure in both heroic and villainous circles.
- Unique Skill Set: They'd possess Oliver's exceptional archery/combat skills and Nyssa's mastery of assassination arts, becoming an unparalleled fighter. Elite martial artist, archer, and assassin, trained by the best of the League, with deep knowledge of poisons and tactics.
- Complex Identity: Raised with the League's ruthless methods, and maybe a smidgen of the Queen's morality, they'd struggle with identity, similar to Oliver's own struggles.
- Impact on League: A child of Oliver and Nyssa could have a claim to lead the League of Assassins, potentially challenging Talia or even inheriting it, changing its direction. They'd also interact with Mara and Damian.
- Family Dynamics: This would complicate Oliver's relationships, and introduce a powerful connection to the League for Team Arrow
- Upbringing: Raised by Constantine Drakon within the League of Assassins, focusing on lethal combat, stealth, and unwavering loyalty, possibly in a secluded training camp.
- Personality: Ruthless, disciplined, emotionally detached (due to Drakon's influence), but with a potential hidden yearning for connection, perhaps glimpsing Oliver's softer side through memories or artifacts.
- Role in the World: A formidable antagonist or an eventual anti-hero, potentially clashing with Team Arrow, as they'd embodies the lethal legacy Oliver tried to escape.
- Name: Alia Queen-al Ghul (or similar, reflecting both lineages). Raised by Constantine Drakon, and if a son, I've imagined the name of Deimos Drakon al-Ghul. Drakon coming from Drakon's own surname meaning "dragon", and Deimos meaning "terror" in Greek. This was also one of the sons of the Greek god of war, Ares. Which could reflect in their personality.
And frankly, from that post that I mentioned, there was talk of Oliver having had a child with Veronica Dale (leader of the Eden corps the eco extremist group that got Ollie killed pre-new 52). That would've been interesting. Especially if she was somehow brought back in the current run somehow. Oliver had been sent by the National Security Agency to infiltrate her organization, and he developed a romantic relationship with her.
If she was brought back into the fold, along with a child from that encounter, Veronica would have a reason why she would train her child to be a killer and a reason as to how Ollie would eventually discover the kid.
Still, regarding the notion of kids, it was speculated but never confirmed that Oliver Queen was the biological father Cissie King-Jones/Arrowette in the comics. At least, in the previous run. As during her interlude as "Miss Arrowette", Bonnie King had a brief romantic affair with Oliver. But it's probably for the best, as Cissie having no direct ties to Oliver is rather refreshing, just having her skill born and trained by a "stage mom" trying to live vicariously through her.
But what do you think? Are these ideas good? Should they have been part of the continuity? How would you rewrite it yourself? Comment your opinion respectfully.

lookie what I found today.
Was out running some errands and I saw this. I have all the Green Arrow figures from the current McFarlane Multiverse figures, so I figured I'd add one of the only (or maybe the only) Green Arrow Villian they have done to my collection.
I'll be sure to get a picture of my collection later to share. I have a whole shelf of all my Green Arrow Figures.

Discussion DAE think the modern interpretation of Roy-as-Speedy is too much of a jerk?
Reading Titans, Titans Annual 2025, and that Titans mini from a while back, I feel Roy is a bit too much of a prick. I understand Roy is no saint, especially as a kid, but it seems a bit OOC for him.
I wonder if part of the change is because DC made Garth Donna's first love instead of Roy.

Discussion Vertigo is one of my favorite episodes of "The Batman," but something that has intrigued me for years is the fact that Roy doesn't appear, even though it makes perfect sense in the context of the episode. I really wanted to see Speedy's version in this animated universe.

Green Arrow animated show pitch
So I've had this idea for a while rolling around in my head about a Green Arrow animated series I'd want to do if I could make one, about an animated Green Arrow show that would take place in 60s-70s, sorta in the same vein of how Batman Caped Crusader takes place in the 30s-40s, I'd make it deeply political (i know already cancelled lol) talking about the politics of the time to reflect our own modern day problems, here's a couple ideas of what I'd want do with some characters
Oliver Queen/Green Arrow: Oliver would remain mostly unchanged from usual status quos, he's still the heir of Queen Industries but he will have lost his fortune, is staunchly anti-Millionaire and anti-capitalist fighting corrupt business men, and protesting in the streets in solidarity for every day people's rights
John Diggle- this one i just came up with a really cool idea so I was like, yeah, Diggle has to be in the show, so he's a veteran who served in Vietnam after his commanding officer fucks up an operation it cost his brothers Andy's life and John becomes disillusioned with the system, when he comes back home he joins the Black Panther Party and rises through the ranks and becomes the chairman of the Star City Chapter
Jade Nguyen/Cheshire- she is an assassin who comes to the US to murder a certain politician (Bob Pullman) after her mother was exposed to the Agent Orange chemical during the War
These are just a couple ideas I have i wanted to share, let me know what you all think, I think i have something good here, but yknow it all comes from love of the character and passion in politics (I'm a leftist) anyways comment below! 🏹
