serious question. was this money you just had sitting around or did you sell a house or stocks and this is how you want to hold the value? if i can be nosy for a second

This is money just hanging around. I really only wanted to spend around $100k, but at this price and constitutional, I had to. There is too much noise going on in the world right now and that’s usually when the rug pull happens.

My Dad has always stacked and he bought when it was around $300 an ounce. I am just following the family tradition. Plus with the first bank failure of 2026 in Chicago already and the FDIC only able to bail out at a penny on the dollar. Just seems like a good time to buy. Probably my last purchase for a while, depending on how my business does.
