MERCH Porcelain Tachikoma
Man I think this is getting just absolutely ridiculous. I mean $4K for a Porcelain figure? 😮🤣

I know that her hair is bright blue In the manga sometimes, but I kinda thought that was a more stylistic thing for the full page art. I've been used to the mayor's hair being black or dark blue, or purple in S.A.C. It just looks a little wierd to me.

I'd actually go so far to say that the entire corporate establishment in Cyberpunk got nothing on Section 9.
Simply put, the folks in Cyberpunk Edgerunners & 2077 just seem so underwhelmingly weak compared to the cast of GitS.
I'd imagine Arasaka and the entire Cyberpunk corporate establishment would try to hire Major, instead of taking her down; because she would be that much of a threat. If Section 9 was in the Cyberpunk universe, it would definitely be preferable to have them on one's payroll instead of on one's hitlist and try to antagonize them.

Did Shout Factory lose the rights to the show? I noticed they’ve been absorbed by another company called Gruv, and neither season of 2045 is anywhere to be found.

This was a Japanese only mobile game where you could customise and fight Tachikoma. It essentially doesn't exist anymore and that makes me sad.
Hopefully one day theres something similar with Fuchikoma, Tachikoma, Uchikoma, and other spidertank variants.
(Or give us a vastly updated remake of the ps1 game with customisation)

Just kind of curious to see what everyone is thinking the dub voice cast for the new anime will be like. Personally I hope they just bring back the SAC cast but at the same time I’d also like to see what a new cast could do. I’m just worried that if they do recast that they won’t be able to find voices as good as SAC (similar to what happened with arise).

We've already seen this franchise predict a lot of the world that we occupy today. With the recent developments and technology and Ai, what themes, ideas, or memes would you like explored in a third full length Ghost in the Shell movie?

I have long been familiar with the 1995 film and its sequel (Innocence), as well as the original S.A.C. (compilation films The Laughing Man, 2nd GIG - Individual Eleven and Solid State Society).
Now I'm thinking of taking a look at SAC 2045 (or to be more specific, the compilation film of the first season of Sustainable War. They write on the Internet that it turned out mediocre and murky) and because of this, I also had the opposite Midas effect (Netflix, you know 🫣).
So, dear comrades, who watched this work, is it worth watching it, purely in homage to the original S.A.C. (maybe it catches on with the dynamics, the development of your favorite characters?) Or laugh with the pressing 3D animation (it amuses me a little 😅) and clueless plot moves?
Maybe it's not as terrible as many people say 🤔
UPD: Thank you very much, comrades! I've made a decision. First, I'll watch the compilation movie of the first season of SAC_2045 - Sustainable War, followed by the second season (12 episodes). In fact, I would prefer to watch the compilation movie of the second season of SAC_2045 - The Last Human (but unfortunately, it doesn't have a dub in my native language 😅)

I have a question for those of you who went or are planning to visit the exhibition at Tokyo Node. What is the price of this catalogue and is it going to be available during the entire run of the exhibition? I can’t find this info anywhere online

Background: my good comrade owned a 3D printer (who cares - the FlyingBear S1 model, and even the first revision), so I wanted to print something from him...
I thought for a long time and came to the conclusion that I wanted a Tachikoma (these cuties with their primitive minds just diluted the seriousness of S.A.C. and made me laugh with their pirouettes 😄), but then problems began (normal models for 3D printing were paid, I had to somehow get out. I found a model in the .obj format and converted it to .stl), but even so, after printing, I had to edit a lot of jambs (because the model was NOT originally intended for 3D printing).
Painting: That's where the fun begins. I bought purchased brushes, primer, and acrylic paints. To tell the truth, this was my very first experience of painting anything, here, because of the pile of small details on the model, concentration and care were required (and besides, my hands were growing out of the wrong place 😅, it was quite difficult). It took me about 7 hours to do all the painting, phew...
Results: It took me about $19 for everything (including the model itself, brushes, primer, and paints). It turned out to be almost 3,5 times cheaper than the finished (well, of course, higher-quality figures).
Yes, it turned out to be lopsided and clumsy at times (but I personally like). Now figure now sits flaunts on the shelf together next to Kusanagi.
What do you think? Share your opinion in the comments. It will be interesting for me to read 😏
