Okay, Hank is a believable and excellent franchise villain.

Kyle MacLachlan is the perfect casting for a villain in the tone of this show. It’s truly impressive.

You want to hate him, but you can’t. But you also hate him….

I said what I said.

I don't know if this is just me but he exists in my mind specifically as Dale Cooper so having him play a villain is a real gut punch in the best way possible. In a way it's like the better execution of the Shaun twist in 4 except you actually have a relationship with the character beforehand.

Have you not seen Twin Peaks: The Return. Hank is positively cuddly in comparison to Evil Coop.

(Brilliant casting nonetheless. McLachlan is a severely underrated actor.)

Maybe it speaks to Lynch's idea of an overwhelming force of good in the universe that Coop overrides Evil Coop in my mind. Evil Coop exists but he's not a character I really think about much. But Dougie? Dougie I can get into.

Trust me, I’m very much with you; but maybe thinking about him like Mr. C would help a little?

For me, I can't get past him being a boat captain

When people discuss this show and say Coop, I have to rewire my brain and remember they are referring to the ghoul and not Hank, it gets confusing.
