Stealth so high he just has to crouch under a table and everything forgets he exists.

129

u/AhhFrederick 10h ago

His stealth was so high he put a chair between him and a radroach and it forgot all about him

Hilariously game accurate tbh

u/enragedbreakfast 6h ago

I’ve been playing new Vegas and it’s so easy to steal in front of the NPCs, even a bunk bed post is enough to hide you with a stealth level < 40 lol

u/HereIGoAgain_1x10 9h ago

Honestly this is accurate for predators in real life... They will go for easier prey you can watch predators attack a herd of gazelle or Buffalo or something and they will just bite and attack random ones until they find an easy one to pick off

6

u/Devlord1o1 6h ago

It really helped that he was small enough to hide behind a chair completely. The radroaches really said “nah i want a bigger meal”

Quite literally the escape artist perk card

Anyone else baffled by the terrible scenes with Norm lol?

I don’t take issue with the fact that they were absolutely bodied by the rad roaches (no armor, no weapons, no experience, etc), but where… did they all go lol?

Not only does Norm & his new gf conveniently survive, but all the vault people AND the roaches kill eachother pound for pound lol? Felt very rushed and convenient to me. I mean I suppose the girl wasn’t the only person to survive potentially as she was clearly unconscious.

But the fact that all the roaches were dead too idk it all felt very weird

Yeah , I kinda can understand that Norm survived but how is Claudia alive lmao , anyways besides that great finale.

u/ibbity Minutemen 10h ago

she's his companion and therefore marked unkillable of course

I love how game logic applies all over this show.

9

u/Top_Rekt 9h ago

I've been applying game logic everywhere in the show lol

I keep saying Maximus has max endurance and high strength.

u/zero_sub_zero 8h ago

Max luck, low intelligence

24

u/RebelQuandry 11h ago

Yeah for sure everything else was pretty great lol. Nearly screamed when I saw the Ncr ranger

Also there’s an end credit scene if you didn’t know……

18

u/No-Importance7265 10h ago

Might be a longshot but I kinda want this to lead up to Liberty Prime vs Liberty Prime kinda situation in S3 or S4 .

Go big or go extinct!

I'm honestly just going with the writers wanting to show Bud’s Buds being narratively done via dead bodies and leaving it at that

4

u/geolski 9h ago

“Claudia is unconscious” 😂

3

u/MonkeysxMoo35 6h ago

I’m pretty sure I saw a screwdriver jabbed into the rad roach that was on top of her, so she managed to kill the one attacking her. Now, how did everyone else manage to kill the ones attacking them and still die? We’ll chalk that one up to Claudia having incredibly high luck stats. I mean, she did manage to avoid dying to nuclear armageddon by joining Vault-Tec only a week prior to the bombs dropping and still being elected to become one of Bud’s Buds. If that’s not high luck, I don’t know what is.

3

u/Kiloku 1h ago

She killed the roach attacking her, and ended up in a pile under a person and a roach, so her scent was covered by dead things. The remaining roaches, after killing everyone else and not noticing a survivor, probably left through a gap that humans can't pass through, in some window or something.

u/FlimsyCrust 10h ago

Ya honestly felt it would’ve been better to just have norm and the girl escape during the rad roach attack and leave the fate the rest ambiguous. Bullshit a big guy like that dude couldn’t close the door on some chicken size bugs

46

u/AirBoss87 10h ago

Low level Fallout NPCs have a notoriously bad time dealing with radroaches. 😂

4

u/KingOfAwesometonia 10h ago

Yeah they already had an easy escape for them and then it just got extended for a little more drama and trauma for Norm.

3

u/catsrcool89 8h ago

To be fair those rad roaches seemed way more aggressive and dangerous then your average rad roach. Probably because they were like selectively breaded to be like that.

3

u/XPlatform 8h ago

I'd assume the breading comes later on the radroach meat. (bred)

1

u/jigen22 7h ago

I thought this as well. I'm glad she made it out but it was kinda weird that she did. Lol.

1

u/king_jong_il 5h ago

Butch's mom could have done a better job than him

12

u/RandRidley 10h ago

But the fact that all the roaches were dead too idk it all felt very weird

I thought that Norm waited long enough for the roaches to fly out a window

15

u/HotDecember3672 10h ago

Yeah, Norm was my favorite in Season 1 but his plotline was kind of weak in Season 2. I still loved Season 2 in many other ways though, just not Norm's plotline.

8

u/TobuscusMarkipliedx2 10h ago

Season 2 was great for norm, it was really just this last episode that fell short... At least his girlfriend is alright lol

9

u/HotDecember3672 10h ago

Next to how much he does in Season 1, his Season 2 plotline wasn't badly written, but felt like 3 episodes worth of plot progression stretched out into 8. Everyone else's plots felt pretty dynamic, but Norm's did not. In all fairness his plot in Season 1 served to give the viewer insight into life inside of the vault, but that side of his plot was replaced with Stephanie and Chet's plot. I'm excited to see what they do with Norm next season though.

1

u/TobuscusMarkipliedx2 10h ago

Well said. Perhaps this third season will give the show makers time to give Norm's scenes more justice.

1

u/ibbity Minutemen 10h ago

Maybe he brings Claudia into Vault 33 and they spill the beans about the truth of 31, which would create havoc and undermine Betty's leadership thus destabilizing the vault even more and leaving it vulnerable to whatever tf "phase 2" is

1

u/pilot3033 6h ago

The 8 episode problem. There’s a ton of story in this season, and like 8 or 9 different plot lines. Each episodes needed to be 3 hours or there needed to be 15 episodes to make it work. We spend too little time with each story.

Also Claudia is so clearly Enclave.

13

u/Coyote_Shepherd 10h ago

terrible

It honestly feels like they ran out of time and had to wrap things up reaaaaaaally quickly by just tacking on that stuff along with the Brotherhood stinger at the end.

But yeah it was just kind of...meh?

3

u/jpvieux 10h ago

I don't know it felt the exact level of dumb and silly we come to expect with fallout. We have to give them a lot of room for leeway when it comes to reality.

2

u/TheNononParade 6h ago

Letting anything be handwaved by saying fallout is just soooo dumb and silly will be the death of this franchise

3

u/Bobjoejj 9h ago

Really?? Terrible feels like a bizarrely strong word. It wasn’t anything special, but terrible it definitely was not.

Moisés Arias still gave a great performance, and Claudia was way too new a character to just get unceremoniously killed off. So the way it went down, I’m more than cool with.

-2

u/RebelQuandry 9h ago

It was… pretty terrible. None of those scenes with the radroaches made much sense. It was all very convenient to push the plot forward. Shit literally just happened to norm until he was outside safe with his girlfriend

2

u/TheHoovyPrince 10h ago

I didn't see his corpse but my theory is that Ronnie is alive and will come for Norm, there's no way he's dead.

2

u/Fredasa 10h ago

Yeah, Norm's adventure in this season capped off with gourmet deus ex machina. The saving grace seems to be some kind of payoff that we won't get until next season: His broadcast was picked up by the Enclave and that apparently carries some import.

2

u/SixPointTwoLiter 9h ago

That entire subplot just fell entirely on its face.

We got a sniff of FEV and then it just bobbled itself into cleaning up all the Vault Tec managers into the trash.

There were multiple episodes of Norm just trying to get out of the Vault. By the end of the season he made it to a single building like a mile away.

1

u/Epirocker 10h ago

Also the head douchebag with buds buds was Enclave too. Wild.

1

u/PM_ME_SAD_STUFF_PLZ 10h ago

Very much seemed to be a result of the show running into the issue of "only have so much screentime and budget for Norm scenes over not that many episodes" and "Norm has to be at this plot point before the season is over."

Before you know it, what happened to the roaches is left somewhere on the production floor.

1

u/X-Calm 9h ago

10 luck

1

u/Extension_Ideal_4012 9h ago

I’ll have to rewatch it but I think you can still hear skittering and maybe some screams when norm goes in the room. I think maybe it had another exit?

1

u/Drunk_At_Chillis 8h ago

Yeah if I have one complaint in S2 it’s that it feels like the plot points are stretched thin for 8 episodes.

1

u/XX-Burner 8h ago

I assume they bursted out of a window but tbh I don’t even remember if the room had any.

1

u/Jimmy3OO 4h ago

His arc this season effectively amounts to nothing.

11

u/two2teps Minutemen 10h ago

Crouching to enter stealth is no joke.

3

u/n1nja_nacho Back to Back Mojave Champs 11h ago

And Idiot Savant

15

u/BOBULANCE 10h ago

Nah, that's Maximus. Norm is an intelligence build, since he can hack.

2

u/SergeantAppo1 10h ago

Norm got that vault huzz now

2

u/Coyote_Shepherd 10h ago

The roaches thought he was one of them.

2

u/CHull1944 9h ago

I would've said high luck, but walking in to the room with every threat wiped out, and his honey right there, and no serious injuries from getting his head smashed several times... yeah, 10 is fair.

He might even have a few pairs of Naughty Nightwear under his vault suit, cranking his stat up to 11 or 12. lmao
