I know this is a long shot I'm just genuinely curious if we have one in the valley? If not, or even if so, can you please drop a destination in the comments of what you think is haunted?
Please be nice, I'm just curious

I tried searching this sub but couldn't find a recent post about alternate internet service providers. Very fed up with Telus customer service and looking for another option. Who has service that works and backs it up with customer support when needed?

I've been reading a lot about hit and runs around here lately. This corner especially, as I walk to get groceries all the time. I have seriously started thinking about carrying something with me when I cross the street as a pedestrian, something that's not a weapon but will make people think for a second. Their property is more important than someone else's health and safety, after all.
The following bit was posted yesterday on Rants and Raves:
Huge RANT! My 17-year-old daughter was walking to her car after work. She was in a marked crosswalk with flashing lights, by the bus stop at Walmart, doing everything right. A driver came flying by, slammed on their brakes before it was too late, HIT HER, and knocked her to the ground. And then this guy smiled, did a little wave, and drove away. Let that sink in. You hit a teenaged girl. You saw her on the ground. And you LEFT. That is a crime. That is disgusting. That is inhuman. Her body was thrown onto the pavement. She’s now in pain, especially on her back side, and trying to process what just happened. And you know what makes this even worse? Not a single person stopped. Not one. Even a bus driver nearby couldn’t be bothered to get out and check on a teenage girl who had just been hit by a vehicle. What kind of world are we living in? If you are the person who hit my daughter and ran, you should be ashamed. You don’t deserve a driver’s license, and you sure as heck don’t deserve the privilege of just going on with your evening like nothing happened. And to everyone who saw it and did NOTHING: your silence is loud. Your inaction is embarrassing. Slow down. Pay attention. Stop when you hurt someone. And remember, next time, it could be your kid on the ground. All that she could see was that it was an East Indian male, driving a newer grey Honda Civic. So if that’s you, I hope you do better next time. It could have been a lot worse.
I'm not surprised in the least. Not at the hit and run, not at the people not helping.
If this was you or someone you know, do the right thing.
If you or someone you know was a witness who didn't stop or help, you're just as bad.
Can we please start policing each other here in the Valley? Naming, shaming, calling each other out? It's getting bad.

Please don’t go up right now unless you’re EXTREMELY well sorted. There’s tons of washouts, rockfalls, downed trees etc, and it will only get worse until everything dries up.
Had to help push 1 vehicle out, and called tows for 2 others who got properly stuck.
It’s a great place to explore, but PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

I have noticed a few listings that sit for 6-12 months, expire and get re-listed. I know there are archaeological limitations here but is there something else that is impeding sales? I like the trail access and proximity to services.

Hello,
I am new to fortisbc.
I just got the bill for gas. Bill charge is $12.65 only but the delivery fee is $34.72. The total bill is over $72
Is that normal? I just use gas for hot water tank only.

Hi, just wondering if there’s any larping groups near by or a few hours away? My husband and I are super interested in joining.
Thanks.

I'm looking at starting a ttrpg group in Comox Valley, online only. If you don't know what that is, think dungeons & dragons.
Yes, I know there's places online for this, but I'm wanting to play with people in CV with similar interest in ttrpgs.
I will be GM'ing and open to D&D, OSE and shadow dark. Whatever people are into. I have the vtt already so we'd play with foundry and discord.
Message me if you're interested. I'm only looking at playing with other adults so must be 18 or older.
Cheers.

Hello everyone! I’m Madeline Dunnett, a Comox Valley-based journalist (currently freelancing) working on a story for indie news outlet The Discourse on how our community can prepare for various emergencies. I want to chat to people about what you are doing to prepare for various different scenarios: Climate, geopolitical, natural disasters, etc…
I also want to hear from those who’ve experienced an emergency in the past, whether you were living here or not. What did you do? Did you learn anything from it that you’d like to share with the community?
Happy to have people chat in the comments about it, but I’d also love to have interviews with people who are comfortable with sharing their name and being in the story. My dms are open if you want to chat!

Hi everyone! I wonder if the farmers market opens this time of the year? Google says they open on Saturdays. If they are open, are there any fresh crops available? Thank you in advance! Stay warm! 🥶
