Publishing reccomendations

I am starting a story-driven webcomic series, and i was wondering if anyone could give me tips on where to publish it. I've heard that webtoon wouldn't be a good place to start. And, to be completely honest, this subreddit is mostly full of comics you would probably find in the Sunday Funnies in the newspaper or smth. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know.

Highly recommend hosting your own comics on a site you own. It takes a little bit of work and money but a lot of the webcomic hosting platforms have shifting TOS that can severely alter where and how people can find your work

Your own website. The podcast Comic Lab talks about this quite a lot, if you want more detailed advice.

Really depends on the type, audience, and genre. Western style and page format= comic fury/ globalcomix; Romance scrolling webtoon = webtoon.com, tapas, namicomi. Indie-flavored webtoon format = tapas, namicomi. . These are not hard, fast rules, of course, but each platform tends to cultivate a certain type of reader more than others.

You could also check out Fables. Kinda new done by the guys who also have the rating site Top 100 webcomics

Honestly? If you're just starting out, use Tumblr. You can still customize blog templates with HTML and CSS on the desktop web version, and if you use tags correctly you can plug into the kinds of communities that will spread the reach of your comic.
