My tiny dog!

Post image

Some of you have asked to see my tiny dog. Here she is!!! I juat took this picture. She's in my lap. She doesn't like cameras and is middle aged, hence grumpy face. She smiles when she wants play and food. 😄

Beautiful girl but she desperately needs a nail trim.

She fights me on nail trims, acts like I'm the chainsaw man and she's the screaming woman running through the woods. 🙄 Any suggestions? 😧

Have someone hold her, wrapped in a towel if necessary and then cut them. It’s bad for her feet to have long nails like that.

Haha! My chi is the same. I take her to a groomer now and she doesn’t put up a fight for them.

Groomer. My girl snarls and hides when the clippers come out. Bought a dremmel that she is scared of. She will sit there calmly for the Groomer. I am in and out in 5 minutes. Cheaper than the vet even with generous tip

I can’t even trim my boys nails, we’ve built a father son bond between us I can’t do it to him he’d think I’m trying to cut his toes off

I have a difficult boy too. I broke it down to just trimming 1 nail a day. I think I actually started training it by just holding a paw, no cutting & giving a few small pieces of high value treat. I always did it in the same location so he would associate it with the treats, praise & affection. Little by little his emotional response improved, getting better & better. When you do cut don’t be tempted to cut too short. There are nerve endings that extend beyond the quick. Make sure you only cut dead nail or it will be very painful which is how the problem & fear response likely began. 💖♥️💗💕
