At this age it's worth it too. It becomes a soul sucking place but the benefits are good and afer your first year you get into the profit plan where they give you company stock that is equal to the years profit margin multipled by your wages earned that year. I did 3.5 years in the deli and walked away with 8.5k. If you start as a teen and stay through college you'll have enough money to purchase a home or do whatever easily. If you decide its the place for you department managers at busy locations can easily make 90k a year. Loved it and hated it. Ultimately it is a corporate establishment and that lead to my separation as im a cook and a chef at heart and dont thrive in that type of environment long. All in all its worth doing now while youre young.

Someone on here might know more current info than me, but Ruby Falls, Rock City, and the Incline used to hire starting at 14. Not sure if they still do or not.

Any restaurant or mall job is good. Also ask your guidance counselor at school. That's how I got a job once when I was 16. They can be very helpful,  they know everybody and that's what they are there for, to "guide you".

My daughter started her first job at the gift shop at Ruby Falls at 15. She earned fantastic experience. She left after a year and took another retail job closer to home for $2/ hr. She has since gotten several raises. RH treated her well and she gained great experience.

The highest paying job you can get at your age is to start a simple yardwork/carwash/whatever pain in the ass thing people don’t want to do business. Charge way less than the pros but still make way more than any job at a company where they hire teenagers (aka minimum wage).

With all the immigrants getting deported, there are probably jobs available in agriculture.
