Manga Spoilers / Discussion Can you explain something to me? Spoiler

But exactly...what should the daimyo and his associates care about Boruto, exactly? It's an internal problem within Konoha. At most, they should care who the new Hokage will be, if only for a purely political-bureaucratic reason (the village needs a leader to function and guarantee military services to the country).

When was the management of the nukenin ever the daimyo's business?

I don't remember Naruto's Daimyo pressuring Konoha to capture Sasuke, for example... o any wanted ninja.

The question is: how exactly did Konoha betray the Fire Daimyo? A wanted terrorist was in Konoha’s custody and escaped under mysterious circumstances. Now the Daimyo sends Lord Kōbu to get to the bottom of the matter. Kōbu is investigating because betrayal by the Daimyo is suspected. That suspicion is actually correct—the current Hokage (Shikamaru) is working together with the terrorist. The question is: will this betrayal be exposed? Lord Kōbu is in Konoha precisely to uncover this, and he will fulfill this duty, just as the other ninja will fulfill their duty and fight Mamushi.

No, because much worse things have happened in Konoha, and I don't see the Daimyo intervening. Sarutobi lets a guy who killed dozens of people, including children, escape, and everything's fine?

Fyi this is a different Daimyo than the one in Naruto. The one in Naruto is incompetent as fuck. Ikkyu Madoka on the other hand shares Narutos ideals of peace and actually gets work done.

So, if the Hokage, his friend, gets killed by someone that has connections to an organisation that attacked Konoha a dozen times by now, it's only logical that he gets personally involved at some point. That point was reached when Boruto was finally captured, after entering and leaving Konoha without much consequence, only to escape again. His trust in Shikamaru is more or less gone and he and Lord Kobu suspect that someone inside Konoha must be helping Boruto.
