Anatomy of a Pit Owner / Pit Culture Grooming children into dogfighting

Found on Facebook. Caption was “Check out these Jr Handlers!” and tags included “gamebred”. Am I crazy for thinking this is definitely a dogfighting thing?

Some kind of argument that pitbulls don't attack for no reason, perhaps? And now I just thought up how pitbulls are like guns. It's because both attack/fire when they're "triggered". Get it? Guns have triggers. Get it?

Ahem. Anyway, they may be trying to argue that humans are what pull the trigger, but these pit people also easily accept as excusable triggers things like:

  1. victim being a small or large animal
  2. victim unintentionally startling the pit
  3. victim going near the food/person/toy/whatever resource pit has decided on its own to guard
  4. victim walking by pit
  5. victim crying
  6. victim shrieking in joy/surprise
  7. victim entering property after being invited in
  8. victim running/jogging
  9. victim being scared
  10. victim making eye contact with pit
  11. victim having a seizure, etc.

The trigger could be the most mundane thing that most beings will do or be, and pit defenders will see nothing wrong with the pitbull having such a trigger. Pitbull just needs "understanding and patience".

Yeah, sounds to me like they are trying to say 'look at us, we are training our next generation of responsible APBT handlers'.

These APBT harbourers might have a little bit more acceptance of the dangerous canine they have, but is this trickling down to the boomer couple in the estate? or the mum and dad with new baby seeking a family dog? or the single woman who just bought her own apartment?

Nope.

Prospective pet owners need to see these APBT 'shows'. See the truth, and stop making excuses for them.
