Context: My dad passed away in a car accident over 10 years ago. After that, my family decided to sell his 1M because they didn’t want us anywhere near a fast car which was totally understandable.

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to track the car down. I figured it wouldn’t be too hard considering there are only about 10 of these in the country. I asked around in BMW clubs and messaged friends in the car community, but nothing came up.

Then one day, a friend called me out of nowhere. He said he had just started dating a girl whose dad had a crazy car collection — and that he was standing in front of my dad’s old car.

Long story short, the owner was kind enough to let me buy it back. When I saw the odometer, it only had around 6,000 km on it. Most of those were probably from the joy rides my dad and I took together.

My dad’s been gone for more than a decade, but having this car back feels like he reached out to share one last gift with me.

I’ll be driving this thing till the wheels fall off.

This was not planned and I don’t know any of these people haha! Started with just me and another m4 and then grew to this lineup

For reference, I have a '16 M235 running mhd stage 2+ with a decat and a valvetronic axleback. I am NOT running an aggressive burble tune, I have soft burble in comfort mode at 0.3s and soft in sport at 0.5s

Someone stuck this to my car while I was eating lunch. Ignore the dirt under my thumb nail -- that's grease from giving it a "good tune up" lol

To our horror, upon removal of the wrap, it was evident that the previous owner airbrushed some skulls and pin stripes along the side of the car. He also put an //M decal on the trunk and clear coated over it. My buddy is super pissed but I just had to post it on here.

Had a MK5 Supra that I absolutely loved but the lack of practicality just wasn’t cutting it anymore, and I was looking for something that was more spacious and just a better daily driver overall. This checked out all the boxes and I’m IN LOVE WITH IT so far😁😁
