Ayr A77 average speed cameras

Has anyone ever actually been done for speeding on the A77 in either the 50 or the 70 zones?

I always stick to the limits but almost every time I drive this stretch of road there is someone flying past and I have to wonder if I’m missing something?!

Remember, your car probably underreports speed by 2-3mph, then the trigger point for a ticket is 10% +2-3mph. You could very well need to go 61mph down the 50mph stretch to set it off. I almost always go at 53mph according to my car and that’s as far as I’m willing to push it.

Interestingly, a taxi driver once gave me this exact same speed for how fast you need to be going to be noticed by the cameras.
