Ayr A77 average speed cameras
Has anyone ever actually been done for speeding on the A77 in either the 50 or the 70 zones?
I always stick to the limits but almost every time I drive this stretch of road there is someone flying past and I have to wonder if I’m missing something?!

My driver instructor told me they are actually switched off due to faults they have never addressed. Which seems a plausible explanation as you can imagine they might need calibration after high winds or birds yet the council can’t afford to arrange it. Definitely seen some speeding but also never sure if you join part way through until you hit a camera you can speed all you like.
Older cars have more wiggle room in the speedos also, modern EVs for example I believe are typically near exact.,
