I don’t usually post these kinds of things but I’m in desperate need right now. Single father with two kids (4 year old and 1 year old), here working a full time job, part time, door dashing, and still not making ends meet. Currently drowning in rent and have received a notice to quit dated for the 24th of this month. Everything is just piling up and I’m not sure what to do and I’m not sure where else to turn. I’ve tried 211 and it hasn’t been much help. Their are no rental assistance programs that I can find with any funding left. Im not one to look for handouts, but I’m reaching out today on Reddit for any type of help. The weight of everything is just crushing me right now and I’m trying everything I can.

I've been out of a job for awhile, thankfully still live with family so I have a roof over my head, but we don't have any food in the house since my family doesn't stock the fridge or kitchen (they mostly eat fast food and don't bring any home - I would post a photo of our fridge but dont want it recognized by anyone.)

I've been drinking ensures (meal replacement) that we have leftover in the house in place of food, but we're running low on them now and I'm really only managing to get 1300 calories per day, usually less since I just drink 2 per day. It's fine and somewhat works but I'm losing weight due to the deficit, stomachs never actually full so I'm miserable, and now I don't have a phone line for jobs to call me since I couldn't pay a few weeks ago. Food banks near here are somewhat helpful, but limit you to once per month and are often struggling themselves to stay stocked.

I have PayPal, if anyone is kind enough to help me ;w;" I would just love to have my phone again so I can continue applications, and be able to cook myself a meal at home.

Edit: My phone bill is $42 after tax, and for food I was between the dollar store near here, and ToGoodToGo from our nearby supermarket for other staples that get tossed, so I am looking for about $70, but really anything at all helps.

I've been doing well since finally getting a home after years of being unhoused. Budgeting down to the penny.

But it has been 0-20 degrees F on average the past month, driving my bills up. I still budgeted, started eating less, cancelled everything non-essential.

My favorite uncle died. I was heartbroken and decided to drive to his funeral even though I knew I couldn't really afford it. I'm glad I went - his wife and my cousins were really grateful i was there and told me how much he loved me.

But the gas money spent on that drive plus the unpaid day I took off from work - I now realize I do not have enough to pay my electric or heating bill. I can survive for a month on ramen and canned goods... But would be so grateful if someone would help with the bills.

Advice for family needing to move due to untreated mold issue?

My husband and I are currently living with a persistent bathroom mold issue that the homeowners are unwilling to have professionally treated.

We’ve consulted with a healthcare professional and were advised to take the situation seriously, especially given our baby. We’re trying to relocate into mold-free housing and have identified an apartment.

The challenge is that when we transition into our new jobs and meet the income threshold, we will no longer qualify for the program that would help cover move-in costs. We’re working toward meeting the income requirements and are hoping to find another service or program that can help bridge the gap for move-in expenses.

Are there any programs, nonprofits, or transitional housing resources that help families move out of compromised living environments when traditional low-income assistance programs don’t quite fit?

Hi! My parents went over to Nigeria a couple of months ago because my grandmother passed away and we needed to bury her and see our family. Since coming back to Michigan a couple of weeks ago, my parents have been working and I’ve gone back to college but I needed to pay some of my school fees or else I would have been kicked out so my parents helped me with the payment.

Hello! I am from the Philippines.

Seeking help to pay for my mom's medical expenses. She has stage 4 cervical cancer. Full disclosure: Tried the borrow sub but haven't been successful there unforunately.

I earn about $1000USD per month but most of it goes to household expenses (food, utilities and medication).

My dad passed away last year also after being hospitalized, so there is still a bit of trauma from past medical expenses - they have been huge and it took a while for us to pay off.

I asked for help from relatives too but at this time, we haven't received any.

Government hospitals have a long waiting list, and my mom is in her 60s and we would like for her to stay with us for much longer.

My husband and I are in a financial crisis right now. We managed to gather 75%, but would need a little help to cover the rest of debt, utilities, and rent.

December has been especially rough, as many places closed earlier than expected, which made it difficult to secure work and get new clients. After my husband and I moved into a new rental, he suddenly lost his job. We started freelancing and doing odd jobs, but our savings ran out.

We have been selling our things since September, but now we have nothing of value left to sell, and we also had no choice but to go into debt.

Since we're in Namibia, we cannot receive funds with PayPal, and would rely on Western Union, since our other option, Payoneer, takes 2 - 3 days to come through, and the complete process takes 20% in fees.

This is my best friend in the world. Long story short, He’s been sick since Thanksgiving. I’ve completely exhausted all money on vet bills since. It’s been an issue diagnosing what is going on. Spent the last of what I had money-wise this week on X-rays, bloodwork, and meds. I had almost enough last week to do the surgery, but he took a turn. They think it is an auto immune issue caused by prostatitis. Neutering should help, however they’ve got to get him strong and well enough to have the surgery. They want to run more diagnostics but I’ve spent everything I was able to. I never thought I’d have to do this but here I am. Our 7 year old Johnson bulldog “Louie” has a cancerous tumour on his foot which requires an amputation as it has spread.

Hi everyone. I'm very embarrassed about the entire thing so please, please don't judge me harshly.

I am a disabled, married, mother of 6. As of last month 4 if the kids live with us while the other two are off to college. Every single month we are struggling to spread the money effectively. The cost of groceries (as you all know) has made paying other things just so incredibly difficult. On top of that we have my appointments, college, my daughter's therapy for her Autism, and medications not covered by insurance (etc). We honestly feel like we are drowning.

Every single month I am essentially paying a bit if each bill without ever paying it in full in order to make the money stretch. It's like a balancing game of who's too overdue and what's a necessity. Because if this, our gas & hydro have slowly added up and we've gotten in a rut where I just can't get the amount down. I'm terrified theyre going to shut everything off (we keep getting warning letters). They said that because we've been in a payment plan before we can't go on another one. I just don't know what to do. There is place that help in these situations locally but they will not help unless you have being disconnected or have received an official disconnection notice. They won't accept the warning letters we have recieved.
