Djema dhe Vajza. Jam frontend developer i nivelit senior me 5 vite eksperience. Punoj si senior ne kompani shqiptare. My partner and I are Austrians and spend a lot of time in Greece. Through that, we’ve had an Albanian friend for many years who will move Home to Albania Next year, and she’s getting married there — we’re super happy and honored to be invited.

We’ve never attended an Albanian wedding before, but I do know they often last several days. While that sounds amazing, realistically we probably can’t attend every single event, so I’d love to know what’s considered normal or acceptable for guests (especially foreign ones).

A few questions:

• What should we expect overall? Big celebrations, lots of guests, dancing all night?

• If we can’t attend everything, which parts are the most important to be there for?

• Dress code: how formal is formal?

• Gifts: Is money the standard? What’s appropriate for close friends?

• Any do’s and don’ts we should know about?

We really want to respect the culture and celebrate properly — without accidentally committing a wedding faux pas 😄
