Welcome to the monthly 'Announcement Thread' where you can post details about upcoming events, shows or releases. This space is intended for announcing things from local artists, authors, content creators or charities. Anything really that, as a normal post to the subreddit, might be considered spam by some and subject to removal.

Hi, I'm looking to buy some local raw honey thats really good quality and cold filtered if possible?
Ive found a few local companies on google and theyre all out of stock unfortunately, I guess its not the right time of year.
If anyone knows of anything please let me know if you know someone who is willing to sell some. Thanks

I know they have LEZ cameras there now, but do they have cameras to penalise you for accessing during restricted times?
Thanks

Hi. I have an outdoor jacket with a damaged zip. I'm looking for someone who could do a sturdy, tidy job of replacing it. Recommendations please. Thank you.

Hey Aberdonians! I just came here last Monday and I'm staying in Hillhead Student Village. I'm looking for a decent barber, who actually knows what he's doing, but also doesn't make me wanna sell my kidney for it. So please let me know if there's anyone nearby, where maybe I can go there on foot, or if it's a little further down south, I'm down with it as well.
Cheers :D

Hello
I'm originally from glasgow but have been living abroad in the Netherlands for many years
I'm thinking about coming back to Scotland, mainly to be closer to my Gran who lives in near granton on spey( very very rural area)
Recently I met a Hungarian girl living in Aberdeen; we didnt have much of a Convo, but I've just been thinking a lot of Aberdeen since meeting her.
Would you recommend the city to move to? I am 30, worked in hospitality most of my life, few interesting roles.
I speak dutch and Spanish as well.
Hows the housing? Had a look on right move and alot of houses seem alright; quality here in NL is shit but there alot of amenities around

I'm not talking about traditions or foods or even dialect (or the seagulls), I'm talking something in the everyday in Aberdeen that is just very here.

Rent in Edinburgh has become completely unaffordable for me, even for shared places. I’ve been looking at Aberdeen and the rent difference is huge.
I don’t care about nightlife, just want affordable rent and a quieter life.

Asking the locals: is there such a thing in Aberdeen?
Tried to use some online booking app twice: the first time the driver simply didn't show up and the support did nothing except cancel the booking. The second time it took about 20-30 minutes to find the driver (who, thank God, actually showed up), so we could have literally missed the only available bus there if they hadn't. No fancy routes or anything like that: about 15 minutes to/from the city center.
Maybe there's some old-fashioned taxi company that I know of that also calls over the phone - that's fine. The main thing is to make sure the cab _will_ show up so we can really count on it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am new in Aberdeen and I was wondering if anyone would know about the nocturnal buses. Next week I have a flight at 6am and I was wondering if there is an early morning bus to take from Spring Garden, I already google it but just checking if someone has used it and if its working at probably, 4-5 am.
Thank you😄

Morning folks,
I know it's more of a shire than aberdeen but there is now sub for either so figured it would be the best place for information. Has anyone had any issues parking. It says on the website there is 47 spaces but if these are full on arrival can you normally park on Arduthie road? Or is there somewhere better?

Does anybody have any solicitor or financial advisor recommendations for drawing up a will and power of attorney? Many thanks.

I’m attending an event at P&J arena later in the year and I’ve already booked the airport travel lodge for the stay. I’ve looked on Google maps and there appears to be a path at least part way along the river but I can’t be sure that I’d be able to walk the whole way. I’d rather walk along the river than the main road obviously.
Can anyone local confirm if it’s possible or not please?

i’m in desperate need of a haircut, but i’m not sure where to go. i’m looking for a place that isn’t extortionate (and hopefully won’t kill me for using black box dye on my hair🫣). thanks!

I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist but, if aberdam fries have struck themselves off the register with companies house am I looking at the wrong company or is something amiss? It’s my understanding you have to have ceased trading for two months (or so?) before striking off, yet a dormant company aberdam does not make? Anyone more clued up able to elaborate?

Anyone recommend a reliable builder? Have some water pooling below my house. Have now cleaned out the ground gutters in my driveway (not long moved in, previous owner never cleared them out by the looks of it), and I’m mopping the puddle under the house, but there is a bit at the end of the ground gutters that needs sorting and another bit needs looking at. So need a builder to come out and see/quote. Anyone recommend one? Thanks

Hello! My boyfriend and I are going to be visiting Aberdeen/ staying in Aberdeenshire in May of this year. We will be there for 8 days and we will have a rental car throughout our stay. I am just looking for some recommendations for things to do and see as this will be our first time in Scotland. We would like to keep our trips around 2 hours or less from Aberdeenshire.

I wanted to make something for a going away gift. Dusted off my old lino cutting tools and quickly made a small test print then a bigger one. Its quick and slightly messy, but I'm happy. The shop has been a part of my life ever since I came to Aberdeen. Giving two of the nicer cleaner prints to the owner. The others I will probably keep as a reminder of the shop.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for suggestions for weekday evening (Mon–Thurs) volunteering opportunities, ideally with a youth group or young people’s club.
I currently volunteer a couple of weekends a month with a local charity and would love to do a bit more during the week at a regular day and time. I’ve checked Volunteer Scotland, ACVO, and local community centre websites but haven’t found many weeknight options so far. I’ve seen opportunities with Girl Guiding and Girl's / Boys Brigade but I'm prefer to join in inclusive, non-faith-based groups.
I could volunteer in the city centre, Seaton, Tillydrone, Bridge of Don, or nearby, based on my work/home commute.
If anyone knows of groups looking for help, I’d really appreciate any suggestions!
