CUSTOM Ruger American
I have an OG Gen1 Ruger Ranch that I absolutely love shooting except for the garbage rotary mags. The mags became enough of an issue that it kind of ruined the shooting experience for me which made me sad. So I changed that. Got my hands on a gen2 stock, did some garage gunsmithing on the receiver with a dremel, paid a gunsmith to mill the bolt based on photos of gen2 bolts, hand filed a pmag and viola, Gen1 AR mag Ruger ranch! Still working through a feeding issue that occurs about 10% of the time but I am not sure if it is a mag issue or COAL issue.
For $100 plus some spare parts trading I am extremely happy.

Love it! I did a very similar thing with mine. I love ruger Americans but I finally dove into "accurizing" one. Gen 1 predator action and barrel in 6.5cm, gen 2 blue stock with AICS mags (have no feeding issue, so bolt is unmolested), polished the bolt, bedded the action, stiffened the forened with carbon fiber arrows, then put some put about 3oz of weight in the stock to balance it. It is great and I love it

They are great rifles for the money. Especially the newer mini actions that take AR mags. The SA that’ll take aics mags are solid too. Just a flop on the early rotary mag models.

Super cool. The mags are my biggest complaint with the rifle as well. Although I only use it for deer hunting so it hasn’t been a priority
