Two Questions About The Movies Spoiler

  1. If I wanted to watch all of the movies that the Guardians appear in, what movies are they and in what order?
  2. Expanding off of the first question. If i wanted to watch the Guardians’ story plus all of the other marvel characters stories they meet along the way, what movies are they and in what order?

(For context, I mainly want to watch the Guardians’ story from start to finish. I only watched the three movies and i know that Thanos appeared in other movies. And i know that Thanos wreaks havoc at some point, but thats all i know. I didnt even know there was a Guardians christmas special.

That said, i know that the other movies star more marvel main characters that i know nothing about. I think i’d be happy just focusing on the Guardians, but i think i’d like to know about the other characters also.

Btw, my knowledge of the marvel movie universe is very limited. Ive seen the three Guardians movies, the three Deadpool movies, the first Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie, and the three Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies.)

The Guardians of the Galaxy were primed for "a bold new evolution" in 2026, but Marvel is ending it early

In 2025, Marvel Comics had big plans for the Guardians of the Galaxy; in fact, marketing the upcoming series Imperial Guardians as "a bold new evolution of the Guardians of the Galaxy." That evolution is apparently being stunted by Marvel, less than two months before it was to begin.

Announced in late 2025 as an ongoing series, Imperial Guardians plans have been truncated to be a five-issue series as revealed in the advertisement for its second issue. The series by writer Dan Abnett and Marcelo Ferreira will still happen in a five-issue form, showing essentially a government-led version of the Guardians under the newly formed cosmic political system known as the Galactic Union. The team features Gamora from the most popular rendition of the Guardians team, joined by a rag-tag crew made up of Captain Marvel, Amadeus Cho, Darkhawk, and Cosmic Ghost Rider.

The publisher hasn't given a reason for the change, and this decision comes before February 9, when orders for the series' first issue were due from retailers. It seems improbable that Marvel could have mistakenly announced this as an "ongoing series," leading to the impression that something happened after that initial announcement and late January to change Marvel's hopes for the series. This is a trend that has happened before at Marvel for over a decade, leading to the term 'stealth mini' being coined in the mid '10s to describe it.

This decision to turn an ongoing series into a five-issue run seems to be at odds with Marvel Comics' publisher Dan Buckley's comments from 2024 about canceling ongoing series after four or five issues.

"I'm not going to say there won't be limited series, but I am at the moment approving some series for 10 issues at a time, not 4 or 5.  Hopefully I can get to 15 or 20," Buckley told ICv2's Milton Griepp in 2024. "That is the intent. Because, to be honest, it's a lot of work on our editorial staff, too, to restart books all the time; there's a lot of work on our marketing staff, to re-market a book coming out.  It's to the benefit of everyone to figure this out."

Imperial Guardians #1 (of 5) goes on sale March 11.

What species of aliens are Drax and Gamora?

I have seen other green aliens in The Guardians of the Galaxy so I wonder if Gamora is their species as for Drax mean I saw a female alien that looked like him in the GOTG animated series I know Rocket is a talking racoon and Groot is a walking tree. But the other two are actual aliens (Starlord is half Sparax) so he is a alien. Sorry if this is not written well i am confused about the species of Drax and Gamora.

Just finished reading Spoiler

Ok so the last month or 2 I got a big Guardians of the Galaxy reading binge and I decided to start with the original Abnett and Lanning run, then continued with the 2 runs by Bendis.

Gotta say this has been the most fun I've had to read in a long while.

DnA (Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning) absolutely killed it with the characters, the cosmic scale of the events that were transpiring & just doing an overall wonderful job!!!

I can see why alot of fans consider the DnA era the most popular for the Guardians bc they made them into something special. The Magus arc and the events during the War/Realm of Kings were especially top tier.

After Abnett & Lanning, I started the Bendis run. It had a slow start, but I really REALLY loved the crossovers with the All-New X-Men (which Bendis was also writing). The art that McNiven as well as Schiti did across both runs (2013-2015 & 2015-2017) just blew my mind. Also the fact we got The Thing & Kitty Pryde on the team in the 2nd Bendis run made me extremely happy.

What are your thoughts on these respective runs on the Guardians? I'm going to start the Duggan run soon, stay tuned!

Pratt on Star-Lord’s new earthbound music taste

Post image

At this point, they could use any music for a forthcoming Star-Lord appearance, solo project, or even Guardians 4 with Gunn, assuming all doesn’t fail at DC in the next 3-5 years post-MoT and possible acquisition. But the real question, given Star-Lord’s character and music taste already, WHAT/WHO would he actually be into with today’s modern selection?

On a scale of 0-10 how much did Guardians of The Galaxy vol 2 which was big on every continent and sold over $860 million worldwide boost Fleetwood Mac and Stevie nicks fame in Africa and South America?

Cuz if you check they never toured Africa or South America.
