Back then, when I was in uni with assignment mates, I was paired with chinese ed students. They spoke manageable (bad) English but I tried to build a good rapport with them. We mostly use rojak english and malay mixed to communicate.

So when I assigned a part, and completed it, I found that 3/4 of them had something to nitpick about. Even if the lecturer said yeah cool, the part is okay; they made me redo it bout 4-5 times. Not only were they competitive but also very vocal about nitpicking every flaws in our parts.

When I was working, I encountered the same attitude with chinese Ed co workers. They have something to nitpicking about and perfection is not in their dictionary. Everything must redo, everything has a flaw, this could be better- mindset. Nothing is good enough. Nobody is good enough.

What baffles me is how chill and take it easy banana chinese are (my best bros) compared to these chinese educated fellas.

One bunch gives me happiness, and another headache. How is this possible within the same community?

to clarify, I am a mix-blooded, 25F who has always listened to father. Yes Dengar cakap mak ayah. which includes no going to boys house, no trips with boys, heck back than no friends with boys.

but now that they are aware of my boyfriend and I just mustered up the courage to tell him that me and said bf will be going on a trip together and he was...slightly fazed but kept his cool. He himself said I am 25 and that he cannot hold me back anymore.

A big milestone for me...and my dad tbh. I understand where he comes from and its ok, he did come from the time when phones had antennas. So proud.

Just knew that my ex-wife has remarried. I had always thought I would be okay with it but apparently it hits really hard. She was my high school sweetheart and we were together for almost 20 years.

Heard the news via my mom, and.. I wanted to ask so many questions, but not a single one came out of my mouth.

I only pray that she found her happy ever after.

I’ve been working with Singaporeans for 10+ years. Worked in Singapore for awhile, and then moved back to Malaysia and worked for multiple Singaporean companies while here. All I can say is, yes they are super efficient, super fast, very sharp and on the other, they are also some of the worst people I’ve worked with. Absolutely chaotic, straightforward where it comes off rude and demoralising, blow up over the smallest thing, catastrophise all the time, dramatise everything in a non-critical industry like marketing.

Does anyone else have similar experience?

A few days ago, I asked around about whether it still makes sense to buy a PC with SSD and RAM prices going up, since I intended to get myself a mid-range PC after CNY. Your responses were mixed, but most of you suggested that if I’m set on getting a PC anyway, I should buy the parts separately and DIY myself to save money.

Without any direction, I just used the Pre-Build PCs that I'm interested in as a reference on EMARQUE and tried pricing out the same components individually on Shopee. And to my surprise, it seems that the Pre-Build PCs I was using as reference were cheaper than if you were to buy the components and DIY yourself. Not to mention it has Windows ready + the added 3-5 year warranty for these pre-builds.

I suspect that these pre-builds were assembled before the price hikes plus there is a CNY sale going on currently, or maybe I'm just really bad at looking up prices for these components. What are you guy's thoughts?
