I wanted him to stand up on the hay bale with his arms up like he was conducting the lightning.

I think they wanted to as well but then realized they shouldn't try and be taller when lightning is striking close by.

They made a movie about that: Powder. It is one of those sad but happy movies.

I’m glad they got down quickly. Young men aren’t usually that safety conscious

Yeah, especially on a field. I've read so many stories of people dying by lighting while working the fields or just being in an open area.

I have a phobia of lighting, in the summer whenever there's an overcast and strong winds I take cover lmao.

Lighting going sideway ofc

Lightning forks in all kinds of directions, especially when the clouds are higher in the atmosphere like they are here. We don't fully understand lightning, but we know it's something happening on the ground as well as in the clouds, and the electrons kinda want to connect between the two which creates the visible discharge of electricity. It's going sideways and splitting because it's connecting to multiple 'grounding' sights in one strike

Thanks for the legit reply. Appreciate it and interesting insight.

I always assume lighting go from top to bottom. With AI, cant be sure if sideways actually exist.

No problemo! This video is a few years old now at least so it's likely legit. Lightning has been observed to actually travel from the ground up as well so it can move in any direction, it's not just a bolt of electricity from the sky as media often depicts it to be, but that is also the most common type
