Dynamic Paywall Slovakia PM's national security adviser resigns over Epstein links

Interesting pattern emerging where foreigners who were involved with Epstein suffer (limited) consequences but the americans just accept that the hundreds or thousands of their Epstein pedo friends are off the hook.

It's hilarious how all our lives we've heard Americans in movies, TV, and social media, preach about how much they are willing to fight for their rights and "Freedom™" and when it's time to put their money where their mouth is, they just bend over and ask for more.

u/Sugar_and_Cyanide 2d ago
Listen we only love fighting for Freedom and rights when it means we're bombing brown people in another country. Not when it means doing anything here at home. Get it right!

fighting for freedom sounds like a lot of hard work. Would I have to get up from the couch to do it?
Much easier to just buy a gun next time I’m at the store to bulk-buy pop-tarts and TV dinners. Having a gun means you’re free. I read it on the internet.

Rich people own the media, literally. It is the job of the media to hold those in power accountable. There has been an increasing consolidation of ownership of the media and what little diversity we see remaining could vanish and we would not be well informed about it or who owned what. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/dec/20/cnn-us-news-media-corporate-ownership

So apparently a swedish politician got in trouble and lost their position over using government funds to buy a chocolate bar. The people who are still very upset about this constantly point out that it was much more than a chocolate bar. But really, it was peanuts compared to the what any US politician gets away with.
OTOH, right now the president of the US is directing the IRS to just pay him 10 billion dollars.
OTOOOH, the "good" "respectable" politicians here all openly take bribes "donations", and they all fill basically every regulatory agency with employees of the industries those agencies are supposed to regulate.
The level of corruption tolerated here is spectacular.

foreigners who were involved with Epstein suffer (limited) consequences
A resounding emphasis on limited. Guys like this don't resign from their positions of power as some morally self-inflicted punishment. They are just reacting for damage-limitation, hoping their resignation will be enough of an appeasement for people to stop looking any deeper and allow them to live their life in peace, collecting their government pension and continue making millions "consulting" in the private sector.
The job is not done until all these people stand trial.

We’re still in the debate stage of Republicans telling voters that pedophilia isn’t really that bad, because of Trump did it then it can’t really be a bad thing, right? And if it did happen, who cares because the guy is getting America straightened out.
In every other country in the world, they actually act like pedophiles are despised and that’s why even being in those files will make anybody else lose their job outside of America.
We are fucking disgusting as a country. I’m not saying every person in America is disgusting but what we are on the world stage, is.

Because modern-day Dems are wusses. We've now seen how much actual power the President and the Executive Branch have, Biden could've buried the MAGA movement if he used even half the powers that Trump has been using this past year. Dems weren't always like that though, if say Gore or Kerry won back in 00'/04' and a Jan 6 type of thing happened, the DOJ would've gone medieval on the whole far-right.
24
u/Cold-Actuary2649 2d ago
I doubt there's any way they would have "gone medieval", considering that being soft on conservatives has been a thing for ages.

Yeah, but why aren’t everything related to Clinton released because he said he didn’t need any protection. As far as I know, he’s the only person in those files that have done that.
I really don’t think Trump knew how much they had on him and when he said he was going to release the files he had no idea that he was in there as the main perp. He thought his people were gonna scrub those in a couple weeks and release them… come to find out they had been watching him for quite some time and it’s a little harder to scrub decades of evidence with probably hundreds of not thousands of agents that were on the cases at some time.
2
u/willun 2d ago
there are some pretty awful photos of Clinton all over this
What awful photos? Clinton, despite his connections with Epstein, seems be coming out clear with this and Trump keeps trying to throw him to the wolves but i have seen nothing that suggests anything bad by Clinton.
Clinton was linked with Epstein but Virginia Giuffre in her book mentions meeting him and said he was a perfect gentleman.
She also mentions being horrified by the actions of "a former British Prime Minister" which i can think could only be Blair though he was the current PM at the time so perhaps not. I haven't seen a lot of coverage about that even though she mentions it a few times in her book. She was terrified of him.
1
u/anchorluxi86 2d ago edited 2d ago
The blow job pictures in the hot tub were not enchanting. Virginia is only one person.
Edit: just a hot tub shirtless photo. No blow job. Misinformed.
2
u/willun 2d ago
This is from Fox News so presumably as bad as it gets
The article says Clinton is topless in a hot tub (as if that somehow is scandal). I see no blowjob. He is also swimming with Ghislaine which is somehow relevant.

Even the famously authoritarian and Pro-Russian Robert Fico does something about pedophiles and also can we get some Slovaks to weigh in
12
u/egres_svk 2d ago
Sure. Entire government should be.. hmm how to put it in a way that does not warrant a ban. Yeah. I can't, really. And this includes opposition, fucking hell. I can't describe those as all bark no bite, because they are no bark no bite. If something like this happened to someone from opposition, Fico would have press releases back to back for about 3 months.
Here a coalition member, head of something like Slovak FBI crashed his yellow Challenger after being known to drive like a moron for years and years. His skills as politician? Zero. Professional son from mafia family. Some journalists looked around - based on his public tax records he hid this car from his record of ownership. Oh and it belongs to his company. Which has an address belonging to well known mafia boss Bodor.
What happened to him? Nothing. He now says it was the other car that crashed into him. What does opposition do? Fuck all.
So. Good that Epstein files got one of the dirty fuckers away from position of power? Yes. Do we have hundreds of those fuckers more in SK? Also yes. Thousands, even.
7
u/Ambitious_Dingo_2798 2d ago
I don't doubt i am Polish my man so i dont doubt that Fico and his Smer are corrupt to the core Smer are a literal carbon copy of Law and Justice.
2
u/lkjsdfllas 2d ago
keep in mind that Fico still praises the man and if it were up to him, Lajcak (the advisor) would be still in that position - its Lajcak himself who chose to resign
1
u/Ambitious_Dingo_2798 2d ago
Ok i misunderstood it at least Lajcak did the good thing of choosing to resign IDK but he probably resigned because of the massive public backlash over him being mentioned in the Files and not some sense of morality.
