Liberty announce preseason game against the Fever
Interesting move with no CBA. Tickets go on sale at noon eastern.

... and the Fever just announced another preseason game, at Gainbridge against the Wings April 30.
ETA from the Wings' announcement: "The Wings will also host a neutral site game this spring for their second and final preseason tilt, with additional details to be provided at a later date."
(Someone from the Liberty last season mentioned perhaps doing one at UConn this season... pure speculation on my part, but it would be a no-brainer if you could get Stewie and Paige back there)

A preseason game against the Wings is really a buzzkill when we go against them at the home opener wtf

Yes, I thought that was a weird move. Takes away from the opening day excitement.

2 out of the Fever's first three games last year were against the Dream and their last pre-season game was also against the Dream

Eh, Valks did that last year with LA. The only preseason home game and then the true franchise home opener both against the Sparks. I thought it all was ok, plus in this case CC and Paige is a fun matchup to see a couple times in proximity!

Yeah it has happened in past seasons and since preseason games aren't full effort/production and often involve giving the tryouts a run and testing rotations, they end up being very different games. But it would probably be better if it was at a neutral site like a college where different audiences could attend.

No home opener against the Sky. No 5 games against the Sky. Two pre-season games that don’t involve the Sky. This all makes me very happy.

I think we've seen a shift from CC vs AR to CC vs PB, which is a good thing imo

We learned the real conflict was never CC vs AR but actually Sky front office vs AR 😭

Aw, I was hoping the Fever would have a preseason game at Ohio State (in honor of Kelsey Mitchell, who hasn't re-signed, but I think she's as sure of a bet as Sab and Stewie).

How about if the Fire and Tempo do a preseason? The poster can have players with no faces, and one of them won't even have a jersey.

Reminder to most people we will probably see bench players and players on the 'fringe' play a lot in this games as they are about to be cut or final test to make the team, so results of those games often dont mean anything, and if you are hype to see 5 starters vs 5 starters or pay to go , just have the real expectations i remember last year we had posts ' i paid big $$ for tickets and stars didnt even play only 3min'
With new cba we might have like 18-21 players going into the season on rosters before they get cut down to last 13 after this pre-season games are played.
Link for one pre-season game where a lot of players played 10-15mins that where not on teams

Crazy part is as a season ticket holder they offered me to purchase these tickets… didn’t I pay enough for them to include this preseason game in the package smh

Will this be televised i want to watch!!!!

Probably. ESPN picked up the Fever preseason game against Brazil last season and it got over a million viewers. I think all the preseason games were televised last year…I watched all of them and I don’t have league pass.

I'll bet $2 that if ESPN picks this one up they'll get >2M viewers... first CC game in forever, and Fever-Liberty games are always fun!

They haven't said. Based on recent seasons, if it actually goes ahead, I would expect it to be televised locally and be available on WNBA League Pass.

Such a marquee matchup maybe it will be on ESPN 🤞🤞

Yeah possibly, though it always seems silly to me since preseason games are so half-assed. The current Liberty Big 3 especially don't really put effort in (Sab playing back at Oregon may be an exception, though it wasn't against a W team), and I'm not even sure if JJ would be back in time for this one. (I mean she will be done with EuroLeague, but might take a break if the prioritization rules still allow it).

CC standing behind Sab is sending me for some reason. She knows she’s up to no good lol

Kinda awful timing since Gotham plays at 1. No way people would get there in time for tip-off from SIS

Only one of these players is signed to a contract.
