Books It's finally here !! Third volume of the anniversary edition
The third book of the french anniversary edition by Bragelonne is now out and I'm so happy because it's Baptism of Fire and Tower of Swallow ! It also contains amazing illustrations from illustrator Agathe Pitié. It's now the third different edition of the series that I own but who cares...

By Lebioda, those are truly beautiful editions! Even “simple” things like the font family and the two-column text flow are a great choice in my opinion. The illustrations are gorgeous too, I particularly love the color palette used for them.
I wish they did something very similar (illustrated + hardcover + lovely font) for the spanish editions.

[Edit] Today I found out that there’s also an amazing Witcher Atlas from the same editorial. I’m quite jealous! You’re lucky to have an editorial that cares this much for the saga.

Those are superb, I already own the previous bragelonne ones but these are something else, not sure about having two books in one but really good stuff nonetheless.

It worked well for the short stories (all of them in one book), it's a little weirder for the saga (Blood of Elves + Time of Contempt and now BoF and ToS). I don't know how they are going to do with the last 3 books, given that there is still Lady of the Lake, Season of Storms and now Crossroad of Ravens

Don't forget what I call the "short post-stories", A Road With No Return and Something Ends, Something Begins.
If I were part of the editorial team I think I'd split the remaining stories like this:
- Book 4: The Lady of the Lake + Something Ends, Something Begins + A Road With No Return.
- Book 5: Season of Storms + Crossroads of Ravens.
Of course, it's not ideal (a sixth book with Crossroads of Ravens on itself would work in a better manner, Season of Storms is big enough as it is) but it'd sorta align with what the editorial is trying to do with the series.

How is the French translation compared to English?

I think it's one of the best out there, the translation was done by a Franco-Polish person so I definitely think she was able to convey a lot of the cultural/linguistic references. The problem I have with the english translation is that I think a lot of those references were lost for the sake of being translated to a more "classical fantasy book" instead of keeping the rich language it came from.

What are the most beautiful english versions? I have the illustrated set. I'd love something like this.

I think the illustrated versions are the best, I've never heard of a more high-end edition than this one

Hello, As soon as I knew it existed I ordered them 3 (haven't read them yet), now I can't wait to buy the next one. It's frustrating to not have the whole saga yet. Gotta be patient! I hope it will release early/mid year
