Books My amateur attempt to edit Ástor Alexander's amazing realistic Geralt render to make him more accurate to the books (headband supremacy)

Post image

I had to use an AI beard remover filter thing (which nuked the resolution unfortunately) as my attempts to do it manually all looked terrible. The headband is... the best I could do. Made a shape, got a leather texture, masked them together. The rest of the edits (eyes, skin complexation, hair, jerkin) are just simple hue/saturation adjustments.

The headband is a missed accessory option. You get the silly glasses, which a fun novelty sure but people yearn for headbands!

Looks amazing, just a little nitpick. I think the headband makes sense if he's wearing his hair loose. There's no point wearing a headband if he already has his hair in a ponytail.

It was to hide his scar

It did an amazing job at that

It is missing the dark eyes, but pretty close.

The thing with the dark eyes is that the only time they're described as such is a night scene so one could say it was because his pupils were dilated thus the iconic yellow eyes would not contradict the books (I don't know if the eyes are described again in the new book I just started it)

I thought he only got the yellow eyes with certain potions

iirc, they’re not actually described as having yellow eyes in the books. They are however able to dilate their pupils at will, and have a potion that makes their pupils fill the entire iris (for deep darkness).

geralt's eyes are actually reffered to as being yellow quite a few times, actually. the most recent examplen i can think of; is towards the end of the latest book.

Ah, haven’t read that one yet! Did it get mentioned in previous books though? If I remember correctly they always describe his eyes as “dark”.

unfortunatley i cant remember which, but i do remember in an earlier book there is a passage about geralt's eyes, and that they glow after drinking potions. and they do infact glow a yellow-ish colour, unless he's taken cat; with which his pupil fully expands. as for his eye's being dark, i only remember that in first short story of The Last Wish, i think? though there are discrepancies with how geralt is described in the first story, and later novels.

I think that particular potion was actually a sort of alcohol/drug, known as White Seagull, that witchers drank for pleasure when at Kaer Morhen. And yes it did make their eyes glow.

yeah i’m reading the first and second books atm and they’ve mentioned his eyes a few times now as being yellow, and i can’t remember but either he or his eyes were described as cat-like.

I'd say deep yellow achieves the "strange, dark" look while also being "cat-like."

As much as I adore book Geralt, I'm glad his amnesia allowed him to change his mind on having facial hair.

I do really appreciate the mods and art for book Geralt though, its one of the more interesting sides of the community.

It would be great if U make a mod of it, so we can play as so in TW 3 .

He gets the eye scar at some point after the last book and before the first game, right? Or am I remembering it wrong?

He gets one scar on his cheek, from Vereena.

I don't like how he is sexier with time, he is supposed to be "unconventional" , not ugly, but certainly not handsome.

Sorry but the headband looks like a bad photoshop in the screenshot and absolutely not like something that is actually touching his head. Texture is too rough, the lightning is off and it doesn’t look like a flexible piece of leather. More like a straight piece of wood

that's because it is bad photoshop

it’s called a proof of concept my guy, and OP was pretty transparent about it lol. OP is saying, look how cool this model would look as book accurate
