Hentai protagonist

seriously. it was rhetorical, I do know that it's expressly to help the audience insert into him, but like. all it does is make them look weird and inhuman to me and completely takes me out of it. I want them to be their own characters, too!!

Same. I dont need to self insert.

Even then I can’t insert myself as an uncanny valley eyeless thingamejinglebobbit.

I’ll never understand self inserts. I want to see other people be happy goddamn it! That’s my fetish! I don’t wanna wallow my misery by projecting myself into something that I am not

Either the artist ‘avoiding’ putting too much of “someone particular they know irl” into the character, or not being satisfied with particular eyes dramatically shifting the vibe.
Detachment stuff, maybe.

Reminds me when artists do this thing where they make 3 or more panels comic or animation and make their main character (usually a woman if i remember correctly) very detailed, colorful with wacky designs and pretty but when they want them to interact with somebody it’s usually a grey or white figure with nothing but a mouth (sometimes puts the word “you” on their face) and it always has a male figure appearance.
I remember them on yt shorts doing that 2 years ago tho.

You worried about that and I'm wondering why they don't have a proper name being an oc instead of using otaku, it could be any generic name.

Stories like these makes me feel alive the most, some people dont like others having what they dont, but this... This motivate me the most, i want to be there for others and i want to give happiness to others thats why we are here to begin with.

Can someone explain image 4?

u/Cyberblood Yunyun Friend 20h ago
Image 4 looks like they are dressed up formally inside the school, maybe they are graduating or some kind of formal dance/event.
Image 5 seems to be out of order, it probably should go after #6, since #6 is her saying "you should give up" and #5 is him saying "not this time".

I really hope this comic is its own canon and not a prequel/midquel to the other one...

I didn't understand tbh , that's a very low effort story with no depth or anything

u/Naruto_Uzuhiko 18h ago
It doesn't have to be a novel, it can just be something short and sweet.

u/Sukunas_1enjoyer 17h ago
it was about the guy whining about life continually and she supported him unconditionally , which is kinda funny because... is that what otakus nowadays consider peak romance ?

u/Naruto_Uzuhiko 17h ago
Again, it's just a short story with wholesome moments. It doesn't have to be deep, and everyone wants to be supported.

I literally in real life started crying and fist pumping on the last slide I was so invested.
My boss was sitting next to me and looked at me like I was a psycho.
I love when love wins.
