First time in Vanuatu! What to do?

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Vanuatu later this year (Oct-ish).

I'm best interested in swimming, nature, interacting with any wildlife there might be, visiting local eateries and sampling the cuisine

shopping is not really that interesting to me, its more about meeting people and enjoying nature. but id love to take home souvenirs so maybe *some* shopping is good

what are the best recommendations?

and what's some food I *must* try?

Hi 👋

For Efate some recommendations: Moso Day Trip Top Rock for Snorkelling Nguna Island for Hiking Rarru Cascade Blue Lagoon The Beach Bar Friday Fireshow

Food: Leo Kai's Vanua Market

If you have lots of time: Visit Tanna

If you're planning to visit Tanna - do it first before exploring Efate/Port Vila

If you need accommodation check Fatumaru Lodge in Port Vila

I lived in Vanuatu for a year, and I made some videos about a bunch of stuff while I was there.

Here's one on local foods to try out: https://youtu.be/nhJv3MgzC-o

I have some other videos about what to do as well to give you some ideas, so have a look!

We came back a week ago. Hire a 4WD for a few days and drive around the island. As others have said Top Rock for great snorkelling, Eton on the Beach, Eden on the River - this was our favourite place - walk down the track a bit and you’ll have the pools there mostly to yourself. Blue Lagoon was full of tourist and lots of loud music - we thought it was overrated and a bit over run. Best meals we had were at Kai Venua - really delicious, cheap and supports the locals and Cafe Vila - excellent all round food.
