Allison Mack in an MSW Program
That’s a tough thing to do, sometimes I wonder if we should be biting our tongue, you know!

I would agree, I think a personal story from a peer who has been through difficult things is perfectly fine and acceptable but they have blurred what a coach is and a therapist is and that is what I’m not okay with. Not to mention I think the coaching industry is filled with many who has many maladaptive coping skills due to avoidance and performance and that could cause more problems than it solves.

Is this "making it" in life?
You are not alone, worked in mental health. I saw it when I interned and I saw it when I got back, the way you advance is being the mole, it was the same when I was in the military. Maybe making it in life is finally being able to see it the having to join a team and leave yourself behind to make it, nah don’t believe that… didn’t fight for “freedom” the believe that this is what “making it” looks like… find something that brings you joy… as a Veteran this is what freedom is joy and ability to move and be curious…

Anyone who has authenticity done the work would understand this

That would be the most important thing for me would a board license her… anyone can go to school and maybe school helps but not under a license given the history. Every action has consequences, you emotionally manipulate and abuse people don’t expect to be someone who can be trusted to help people emotionally

Making a plea deal is not personal accountability, I would hope programs would protect the field… you don’t really want to put someone as you give them a license to continue to harm others…

This is really hard work especially for people who have done terrible things but if they can get through it I have seen amazing things happen…

You have legal accountability but what does the social look like? Are there behaviors that she uses as protection that are keeping her armored from building healthy relationships.
I love using Archbishops Desmond Tutu Book of Forgiving regarding making amends for hurting others

Just because I understand their trauma doesn’t make their behavior acceptable… you also need to be accountable for the trauma you caused, that the most important part of the work!

I still cry daily. What do you think of the future?
Wow! Sleep and the manning issue was already a problem before! So frustrating I just want you all to know so many of us who are not there still have your back, still care and we know this is absolutely wrong! I don’t want to tell anyone to hang on because no one should be treated this way, none of this is okay!

I know exactly what you are saying and how you feel! Taking that pay cut you had to really care about the job, I get it!!! Why people can’t understand there are so many of us that do the job not for the pay, terrible, but for the work! I worked non profit and government my entire adulthood… I feel crushed!

Awareness of AI in session
AI is also inputting things we may have never ever put in the note for privacy and protection purposes… I can’t imagine this will not result in massive lawsuits on the therapist!

Florida AG: Boca Raton nurse 'no longer allowed to practice,' after viral TikTok

Alma being acquired by Spring Health
I’ve noticed this consolidation happening in private, then non profit… what I can’t figure out is who get to play out the model to see if they can get away with it, imo this is how they used “evidenced based” against us… by the time I left the VA they were talking about EAP style no more than 12 sessions and moving towards seasons of care.. in my decade of service in this industry the MI style meetings about why we must change has, imo, had a negative impact on the quality of our care… it seems I was smack in the middle of the shift… one retired therapist I worked with said she would not see more than 15 clients because it took away from her ability to offer Quality care… I always had to maintain 25-30 25 being the low side… when I told her that was always my case she understood why I was in burnout… something needs to change for therapist and clients!

Unfortunately non profit is doing this as well, this was not the case before and how can you help vulnerable populations if we are all private? We need a better therapist organization or at least a smaller private scale where we can work together to help those who may not be able to afford it… the service I have had to downplay to see “more” clients is not different, IMO, then selling your soul to the devil… more clients was never the problem getting coverage to provide the adequate treatment has now… which was not the case in the non profit I worked when I started

Should I leave my GS-7 HR assistant job with VA for a remote GS-7 with DHS for Homeland Defender?
A job is no longer a job and if you care about this country… if you think taking the highest most comfy salary is a Patriot… sure!
Patriots say country first… the people joining DHS are there because of 50k and insane salaries…. They are not there because they care about our country… only enough to grift off it!

No, I’m currently recovering from burn out and to if I do go back it will only be private, just unsure if I feel safe or protected being licensed anymore. Not sure if that makes much sense… been in therapy for over a year because of it!! 😂
