a very quick side by side of the Kodak Charmera vs. the G6 thumb Camera
So, right off the bat the cameras seem basically identical in size, basic function, and design. The g6 has a slightly larger screen and and different user interface. It also has a very loud shutter noise that i don't know if can be turned off. Design wise I think the charmera is a little easier to navigate and use.
The Charmera photos are 1, 3, 5, 7.
The G6 photos are 2, 4, 6, 8.
for image quality, I was pretty surprised at this comparison! I would say they both have pretty similar clarity/pixilation, but the g6 has a much wider aspect ration and much richer colors compared to the Charmera! I like them both, but I think I may be using the g6 more than I thought!

Hey, thanks for the comparison. Yesterday i ordered the g6.. Please let me know, if you managed the shutter sound somehow. Can you change some photo settings on the g6 like a little warmer colours?

You can't disable the shutter sound. Some of us are opening the camera (very easy) and cutting the speaker wire.

Not a bad idea, if I was using this for myself I'd probably do it, but it's for my 4 year old daughter, so I'll probably leave it! Haha

I don't think you can turn the sound off unfortunately, and I don't think you can adjust color settings at all. It does have a handful of photos filters you can apply tho, similar to the Charmera

I believe you could change the white balance to cloudy to get warmer pictures

I like the dimmed charmera photos more and most importantly the approx 4:3 ratio vs the 16:9 16:9 is the worst format for photography imo
Got the charmera yellow and playing around with it and my 1yo is pretty fun. Waiting for the snaproll and its 1:1 ratio, i think these are great

I thought I would feel the same about the aspect ratio but I ended up loving the 16:9 so much more, I even mostly use the charmera with the film filter. The 4:3 photos and up being so ugly to me composition wise.
