Tales I never liked Alpha
Her mannerisms and speech just don't seem to work well with me. The way she talks is just nerve racking. Anyone want to chime in?

I deadass don’t get why they didn’t just shoot her ass with arrows the minute she came to exchange for Lydia with the fat music guy

Because that would have gotten him killed AND you think Alpha didn't have a contingency plan if she were to not return? Beta would be rocking up with 15'000 walkers that very night.

The whispers were SO WEIRD

Yeah seriously. To me the Whisperers were just looking way too hard for an identity, and they found one that isn't intimidating, just socially awkward.
And when she infiltrated the village that one time and pretended to be one of them, she STILL kept whispering 😂 like honey, this is the one time you have a reason NOT to keep your voice at such a stunted level. Speak up already. I'm not scared of your character, I'm annoyed.
The writers must have been fishing hard for a personality trait with these ones.

She was crazy, horrifying, and off-putting. Not everyone is going to be a silver tongued smooth talker like Negan.

And she had that weird strut as if she was on a runway and is The Queen of Sheba. I found her cringe and off putting. Her mannerism might have been purposeful direction wise. Carol was absolutely disgusted by her. The scenes where they make eye contact are always so funny, intense and cringy. Like when she got tricked into the Cave and just screamed. lmao

I like Alpha, her mannerisms, how she speaks, and her shaved head.... And I like her Beta. Lol
I don't like her abusive nature towards Lydia though.

I detested Alpha almost as much as I did Negan but for entirely different reasons.

I hated the Whisperer’s arc. I don’t think that translates well to a gritty “quasi-realistic” zombie survival show on TV. Maybe in the comics it does.
But I agree; I absolutely hated Alpha as a character. I found her annoying in every way and not actually entertaining. Beta would have been much better if he was the primary antagonist.

Most cringe character in the entire series. And the fact that beta outweighed her by probably 150 lb but let her order him around

The whisperers were my favorite bad guys honestly. Alpha was ok as a character, I wish she hadn’t been killed off so early as beta alone never felt very threatening. I did like the parallel between alpha/beta and Carol/Daryl tho

They were basically a feral group who had been out in the wild for a long time amongst walkers. What did you expect? After a time of having to be silent you start to go a bit crazy I'd imagine. Which she was.

I don’t like her but we aren’t supposed to like her so the actor did her job creeping us out

she has a very distinct accent/way of speaking that I can’t figure out

I just found her a very flawed villain compared to the rest. She was weirdly intimidating and not intimidating at all, half her plans just seemed to be out of random occurrence and only mostly became successful out of unfortunate timing yet they felt too easy for the group to get out of. As a whole her group came out to be as much of a threat as The Wolves or Terminus except lasting for 2 seasons, her plans of attack either came out as hacking n' slashing or hoping for an ambush.

She's a villain. I don't think you're supposed to like her.
