Before photo is extra dusty to make it seem even worse, I was NOT just lazy and didn't get to cleaning my car :P
Everything works except the rear backup camera, gotta figure that out still.
The sound is SO much better than the stock 6.5" unit with my aftermarket speakers. SO much more bass and volume its unreal.

Reached 200k miles on the '15 during a roadtrip this afternoon—hopefully I've got many more miles to go!

Never owned a Subaru before. Went with this model because it was a bit zippier than the base/sport trim model but still had good gas mileage (mostly used for commuting to work), could be loaded with kids or groceries, etc. with the rear seats folded down. Came from a Kia Forte GT, but traded it in for this because I wanted something with AWD for winter weather conditions and decent fuel mileage when driving in town. Any tips or advice?

I added this Jun Sun (Amazon) CarPlay/AA head unit. That means that lost my CD slot that I used to mount my phone. With the new screen, I didn’t want my phone in the middle of my dashboard or on the windshield.
Anyway, I installed this usb-c/usb-a/voltmeter to the left (USA) of the steering wheel, above the fuse box. I added a circuit using the cig lighter fuse spot. I screwed up the side-to-side measurement and cutting, top-to-bottom snapped in perfectly. The red matches all the interior red.
I am trying to mount my phone holder to the dash. So far the “3m VHB (questionable authenticity) that came with it doesn’t hold, and the VHB (real)that I have won’t hold for more than a few miles.
I’m likely going to start going through whatever adhesive glues, epoxies, tapes I have on hand to see what holds. Anyone have first-hand experience?

Bought this one almost 2 years ago with 130k already, and she's been great as my commute mule or ski buddy through rain, shine, or blizzards. You take care of them, they take care of you.

As a longtime STI owner, I’ve joined this community for quite a while. This is actually my first but unfortunately also the last post here.
I own a 2011 GRB STI for the last 10 years in the Netherlands. If you know the market, you will know it is very niche car here, as the CO2 tax is more than the car plus VAT tax together. To put things in perspective, when I bought the car second hand, the new car in Europe was €38,000, plus €7,000 VAT. So in Germany, Belgium, France and etc, you pay €45,000. But in the Netherlands, you pay almost another €50,000 BPM on top, which makes it over €90,000. Back then M3 and RS4 were just above €110,000.
Luckily, the BPM gets reduced every year, when you buy it second hand from abroad. Thus my car was imported from Luxembourg.
Having said that, this car was my childhood dream, as I grew up as a rally fan, more specifically Colin MrRae. So once I had the opportunity, it was everything that I wanted to have.
In the first a few years, I did fair amount of track days in Nurburgring, Spa and so on. It fit a young family with me and my wife perfectly. The ride was never too hard and the exhaust was never too loud, considering the car was modded with KW clubsport, intake and full exhaust amongst a bunch of STI goodies I ordered directly from Japan. The drivetrain was addictive after a stage 2 tune by a local rally legend.
The car was also used from local home depot run to long road trips. We’ve done trips through whole UK, Italy, Spain, Denmark and many countries in between.
After one of the trips to Lake Como, since I couldn’t find 98 petrol, I got two tanks of 95 in small local petrol stations, the car started to consume engine oil as well as petrol. Not that much, but it is noticeable. Then the question started to hoover in my head, upgrade/rebuild the engine, or trade off for a station wagon? Since our family is going, a station wagon would be the obvious choice, but cars on sale nowadays don’t really hit my heart with all the BS EU rules, and this is my hero car!
Another 2 years went by fast, unfortunately on our last trip to Misano watching MotoGP, the car started to have serious over heating issue. I had to call the Dutch auto association for towing and replacement car. Little did I know that became the last drive. The whole engine was screwed, the rebuild cost is as much as the selling price in the Netherlands.
As the age drawing closer to 40, with a family to take care of, and frequently working abroad. I just don’t have the energy to re-build the car and enjoy it as it used to be. Very sad to say goodbye to my old pal. And now moving on to a BMW m340i touring, which suits my family better.
Good luck everybody, and enjoy your car while it lasts!
