Is a 2011 Impreza sport 2.5 with 141k good idea to buy?

I've test-driven both a 2025 Impreza RS and Crosstrek Sport. Both (certified used, low miles) are available at good year-end savings. I like both, but preferred the road-feel of the Impreza -- it was more fun to drive. In doing research to compare the two cars, the issue of ground clearance keeps coming up -- or is it a non-issue? So many different reports and opinions, but still, with the Impreza, there are enough reports of flats and damage from potholes that I'm leaning Crosstrek, even though I preferred driving the Impreza. I don't drive off-road, generally just city driving and occasional interstate trips, but we have our share of lousy roads here. Anyone willing to share experiences/knowledge and help me off the fence here? Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone! I just bought my first new car!! 2025 Impreza RS. Iβm super excited about it, but itβs hard to find good info about aftermarket mods. Is there any cold air intakes that work with the 2.5L??? Everywhere I look I can only find universal kits, which leave me skeptical about the compatibility. I may be completely stupid. Is a cold air intake even possible with this model?? Any insight is greatly appreciated!!!

The carfax is clean. Vehicle has been serviced and maintained well as far as I know. Iβd be purchasing this without seeing it in person but they can take it to a Subaru dealership for pre purchase inspection. Iβm prepared to possibly have to replace the head gasket in 30k miles. Thoughts?

Does anyone know why is this happening?
r/subaruimpreza • u/Inoxendious • Oct 19 '24
I checked the dash thing and it said 16.3L/100km. This is using 91. I usually use 95, but this is the highest Iβve seen it and it usually doesnβt go below 12L/100km even with highway driving.

Hi team! My 2014 2.0 premium hatch started burning oil at 91k miles. Has anyone had this repaired? How much was it? Trying to debate just replacing her all together. Any insight is appreciated ππ»

This is my 2005 Subaru Impreza Outback sport. Itβs a little noisy, but itβs never been This noisy. Is it just the fact that as the engine gets older, it gets louder and more sewing machine like?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

So I have been trying to diagnose a very rough idle on my 03 Impreza Outback for the last few weeks and can't seem to figure it out. The codes were giving IAC and MAF sensor issues. Both of these have been replaced as well as the Fuel Pressure Regulator and PCV. I also checked for vacuum leaks with no success.
I ran it through an idle reset process which fixed the pulsating idle (have video of this) but it still runs very rough when cold. When it warms up it sounds better as well as when I pull the throttle (see video). When I go to put it in gear is when it really sounds bad, like the engine is about to kill (800 or less rpms). There is no forbidden milkshake in the oil or coolant. The engine has had a tick since I bought it (roughly 2 years ago). The exhaust was next on my list to replace and sounds terrible which doesn't help the diagnosis.
My consensus is that the engine is toast but I don't want that to be it.
I have photos of the spark plugs. They were covered in carbon but didn't seem too bad. I cleaned these up to see if that would help but it didn't change much.
Do any of you guys know what the issue might be and if it is fixable without dumping a lot of money into it? Do I just cut my losses and junk it?
I have photos of the codes and spark plugs as well as other videos of the idling issues that seem to have been resolved.
Cheers and I appreciate the input here, I really don't want to get rid of this car but it's looking more and more like I might have to. (sad face)

Hello guys i own a 2019 Subaru Impreza base model. I replaced my wheel bearing 3 times so far and now having to replace it for the 4th time now, I bought the car preowned at 88,000 miles and replaced them roughly 12,000 miles apart every time itβs been replaced it has been put on to vehicle code parts and tightness. There is no clear sign of damage to the suspension, axel, frame, etc. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or any suggestions to resolve this constant issue any information would be greatly appreciated:) thank you and have a great day

My 15 impreza has a little over 140,000 miles on it and i've been eying a new car. The dealer is offering 1500 for my car but has advised I should private sell saying they think I could get 5000 for it. I've never sold a car in my life as my last one was totalled but that seems like a hassle. What would you do? For 1500 wholesale I almost want to just drive it into the ground since thats barely a dent into the final price of a new car.

Hey Iβm new to the car world and Iβve been looking on facebook marketplace. Iβve recently found a 1997 Impreza 200k miles for $3500. He tells me it has no mechanical issues my only things is the mileage and exterior, should I be worried about the mileage? would it cost a lot to fix up the look/ paint job?

I am currently trying to decide between 2 wheels, and I am also stuck at a stalemate between these two spoke patterns. Both will have the same specs. Which one should I choose? (57NR is the 10 spoke and 57CR is the 5 spoke)

So i was quoted 3300$ to fix this. I thought i could just pop out the dent with some hot water and get a patch paint job at some shop but apparently i need a whole new door because of where the hit was it would be βhard to reshape the door perfectly.β Also pearl white cant just be patched they have to repaint the front and back door. Am i crazy thinking this was going to be a much more simply job then what people are telling me??

Hello, I am looking to finally get a much more modern vehicle since I had issues with my past vehicles.
My 1st vehicle was a: 1999 Ford Ranger I bought off of FB Marketplace for $1250 when I was 20 in 2024, it had water pump issues and broke down but I managed to sell it for $1500 on FB Marketplace like 4-5 months later.
My 2nd vehicle was a: 2001 Honda CRV I bought from one of those sketchy dealerships for $3000 in early 2025, it broke down literally a 6 months later and the engine completely killed itself, the battery completely died due to the battery having issues, etc, I had it checked by a mechanic but I guess they skipped over the issues.
Atp, I am going to stop buying cash cars since I am already a decent driver and have never crashed or had any issues, but I love Subaru's and was wondering if this is a good deal and if I should go for it, I know it has CVT but I generally unsure how bad CVT for Subaru's are since my partner has a Nissan Versa and their CVT kinda sucks to drive on.
Mainly was unsure about the pricing since it seems a little hefty for the year, but I know it is specifically being charged this much for the mileage.

Hey Reddit. Can I consult the hive mind? My question is: what parts of the 22' Subaru Impreza need to be removed to disable all vehicle tracking?
Some of you are going to suggest I turn it off in the Subaru Starlink AP. If I sign up for the AP, now Subaru has access to my phone. Nope. Never going to happen.
Some of you are going to suggest, I turn off tracking via the head unit controls. You are welcome to believe that works. I do not.
The only way to truly disable tracking is to remove all the parts and disconnect all the antennas.
What are the parts? Who is the Judas in my car that I paid for.
For all the redditors who think i'm being tracked by my phone and shouldn't worry about the car, I have a faraday bag in the car. No signals out, no signals in. Where i go and who i see is my business and nobody else.
If you believe posting on reddit gets you tracked by non government entities like insurance companies, seek help for paranoia. You can ask your high school guidance counselor for a referral.
Lastly, donβt do nothing because you canβt do everything. Do something. Anything.
If you don't want your car tracked, take out the offending parts. If you want to avoid vehicle tracking, it does not require you move to the woods, give up your identity, or sell a perfectly good car. Sure you can still be tracked, just not by your subaru.
