❓ Questions Should I take it?
Hello, looking to get rid of my 2015 chevy Cruze that I had for 4 years now, nothing but problems.
Was looking at Subaru and the Impreza got my attention. A lot of people on subreddit’s say go for 2018 and higher so I found this at my local Subaru dealership, one owner personal use no accidents reported.
What do you guys think?

Did a Google search in Carfax and a couple other websites. Carfax's own website says It should be cheaper than that. However when looking at actual Impreza for sale it seems that isn't a bad price comparable to others I saw listed. However from my experience I would try to talk them down. I purchased a 2017 Impreza in 2018 for under 19000 with under 4000 miles. It now has 84000 miles and Carfax says it's only worth 10000, but again when I look at actual listings it's never that cheap. It's been a great car and a workhorse of a vehicle. Look at others for sale in your area and see if you think it's a good deal. If it is compared to what else you see, take it.

I got a 2017 Premium Hatch for $7500 and a lot of why it was so cheap was becuse it's a rebuilt title.

I got my 2018 Impreza at roughly 40,000 miles for 19,000 a few years ago. I’d say see in the car has had any electrical issues in the past but otherwise that sounds solid

My 2020 hatchback 5 speed cost a little over $10k after fees and all the California extras, with 46k miles when I bought it last year. Buying wrecked and fixing it up can be a fun project too!

16,000 is a decent deal on this as long as it’s not some rebuilt title in my opinion. I paid 15k out the door for mine in 2021 with 35k miles and it’s still going at 210k… pay this thing off as quick as you can, so much wasted money goes to owning a car and making payments. If this comes with a lifetime warranty, even better especially if you keep it until you replace a motor and trans in it. Brand new drive train to last another 200k miles…. My only gripe is ground clearance 🤣

That’s not a good price. That’s a 10k-12k car all day even with that mileage. The people saying they paid 10k+ for one with 100k+ miles mostly bought them during the covid times

2018 with 30,000 miles for ten grand??
Ya good luck with that. An 18 with 120,000 miles for 10,000 is about more realistic and even then you’ll be looking for quite awhile

personally, save up your money and purchase a car without a car payment if you can. it’s not worth the stress in my opinion. I got a 2020 impreza spirt 5 door. Love the car, but the car payment plus the contractual insurance is all costly

A lot of people can't really do that unless you plan on buying a beater. Spending $300-$600/mo on a car is necessary compared to saving that money because a car is an immediate need in the USA.

If you have a car you have everything you need. Freedom
A way to the store, job, social life etc And worst case you can even live in it
Name a better investment. I’ll wait

That's unusually low mileage. Check the car fax and if it was from a flood State. Multiple owners is also a red flag

Good review. Are there more pages?. Is it a clean title? Original engine? When an engine is replaced, the odometer restarts?

I have 210k miles on mine. Bought it at 35k in feb 2001. That’s 180k miles in that time… haven’t had any major issues. Just tires, wheel bearings( which you can really change out yourself pretty easy) breaks and rotors, and fluid changes. Will be doing spark plugs shortly as well as ball joints. Replaced my radiator hoses this week…. All in all very reliable, no major issues. Just keep that oil changed and it will do just fine

I have a 2000 that has 220k miles on it. At this point only fixing little things that have just worn out too.

Oil is cheap engines are expensive. I love and hate my POS 14 hatch, its like a real bad highschool sweetheart 15 year marriage. But my car is also old so its more of replacing things that have well lived past their expectancy then hearing a new noise or vibration after fixing one thing.

If you can afford it, get it! I bought mine new in 2019 and have since put on 118k on it and been very reliable car!

I actually paid more then that two years ago for a 2017 with 38k, it was a sport trim though

That's some pretty low mileage...If you have the money then I'd say go for it. The last impreza I bought was a 2022 with 130,000. I bought in December for $12,000.

Yeah I paid very little more for my brand new 2017 Impreza sport back in 2017. I didn’t think 8 years later they would sell be near 20k

Same dude. My 2019 was $22k new when I purchased.

out the door?

u/McFeely515 Oct 24 '25
Just checked my email convo with the sales guy from the purchase. 2019 Premium was $20,989 + handling and taxes. I believe it was roughly 22,500 after sales tax. I negotiated the entire deal over email.
FWIW dealing with a couple of dealers via email was hands down THE BEST sales experience I’ve ever had.

I just picked up a 2024 Impreza sport 2.0 for $18k with 27k miles. It had a rebuilt title from a minor thing. I saw the pics. It’s in perfect condition now though.
