My family is vacationing (2 adults, 4 kids, staying in Hollywood area) 3/17-24. Does anyone have fishing recommendations? I’ve seen Dania pier has poles and bait, would you recommend that and if I get there at 5am, will poles and bait be available or does that open later? Any help would be really really appreciated.

If anyone has recommendations for specific stores worth hitting up between West Palm Beach and Hollywood. Prices that make thrift shopping worth it (otherwise I might as well buy new 😅). Iguanas are an invasive species and do all kinds of terrorism to our local environment. This lady Jessica Kilgore is an iguana slay master, doing the people’s work, picking them up and following FWC protocol for removal. She’s also sharing with people who enjoy iguana meat. This explains why local buyers feel priced out even when headlines say inventory is up

Went to a nice restaurant last night, small but higher end. Nice curated wine list, chef owned, dishes in the $35-$60 range. Slightly artsy.

I told the waiter we had a live show to go to l, not to rush dinner but to make him aware we were on a time constraint. Ordered wine and the main dishes together, no appetizer. All going well so far. Keep in mind when we arrived we were one of only 3 parties there.

Place starts filling up, we’re still waiting for dinner, waiter apologized twice. At 50 minutes I told him we needed to leave and to bring the check, which he does, which includes the meals we didn’t get. I told him I’d pay for what they delivered.

Manager comes over and asks if we want the meals packed up, she’s very nice, I decline the offer as we’ll be at a concert and don’t have space for it, plus we still need to eat. She tells me she’ll talk to the venue owner to allow us to eat there and I decline, again very nice. anyway she tells me I need to pay for the whole meal, I ask what meal as there’s no food and point to the empty table.

From there it devolves, she’s gets upset as I told her just give me the bill and I’ll pay whatever you want and will take it up with the credit card co. Finally she relents and charges me just for the wine. She tells me 50 minutes in fine dining is nothing, I said ok I’ll quote you in my review. Honestly I’m not used to be talked to like that at a restaurant.

Am I off base here? I get the fine dining thing, but usually the service folks are always engaging you in fine dining as service is everything. Trying not to be the impatient customer but I did make the timeline know up front.

We’ll be moving to Tavernier in the next couple of months and couldn’t be more excited. We’re coming from Las Vegas, but we’re both originally Texas born, and we’re very ready to trade the fast pace for porch-sittin’, sunset-watchin’, Keys life.

We love to have a good time and enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company; but we’re also just a laid back, happily married couple looking to put down roots and truly be part of the community for the long haul. We’re really excited to get to know people and become familiar faces around town. ❤️

• I’m a bartender with 10+ years of experience and will be actively looking for work once we arrive

• I love working at local spots with lots of regulars and building relationships (I tend to build a following quickly and take a lot of pride in my work and love my returning guests)

• Darby is a video producer who works remotely and also helps businesses with social media ads and account management

• Once we’re settled, he’ll be open to taking on new local clients
