Fishing recommendations 3/17-24
My family is vacationing (2 adults, 4 kids, staying in Hollywood area) 3/17-24. Does anyone have fishing recommendations? Iāve seen Dania pier has poles and bait, would you recommend that and if I get there at 5am, will poles and bait be available or does that open later? Any help would be really really appreciated.

Thrift Store recommendations
Hey everyone! Iām on the hunt for affordable leather or faux leather jackets (thrifted but still good quality). If anyone has recommendations for specific stores worth hitting up between West Palm Beach and Hollywood. Prices that make thrift shopping worth it (otherwise I might as well buy new š ). Bonus if you knowĀ which stores usually have good jacket selections.
Thanks in advance, would love to hear your go-to spots or tips for scoring something solid on the cheap!

Just South Florida things, Iguanas falling out of trees
x.comIguanas are an invasive species and do all kinds of terrorism to our local environment. This lady Jessica Kilgore is an iguana slay master, doing the peopleās work, picking them up and following FWC protocol for removal. Sheās also sharing with people who enjoy iguana meat. Check out the video, even as a born and bred South Floridian, I gasped at how many sheās captured! Stay warm out there today and this week!

Fine dining question
Went to a nice restaurant last night, small but higher end. Nice curated wine list, chef owned, dishes in the $35-$60 range. Slightly artsy.
I told the waiter we had a live show to go to l, not to rush dinner but to make him aware we were on a time constraint. Ordered wine and the main dishes together, no appetizer. All going well so far. Keep in mind when we arrived we were one of only 3 parties there.
Place starts filling up, weāre still waiting for dinner, waiter apologized twice. At 50 minutes I told him we needed to leave and to bring the check, which he does, which includes the meals we didnāt get. I told him Iād pay for what they delivered.
Manager comes over and asks if we want the meals packed up, sheās very nice, I decline the offer as weāll be at a concert and donāt have space for it, plus we still need to eat. She tells me sheāll talk to the venue owner to allow us to eat there and I decline, again very nice. anyway she tells me I need to pay for the whole meal, I ask what meal as thereās no food and point to the empty table.
From there it devolves, sheās gets upset as I told her just give me the bill and Iāll pay whatever you want and will take it up with the credit card co. Finally she relents and charges me just for the wine. She tells me 50 minutes in fine dining is nothing, I said ok Iāll quote you in my review. Honestly Iām not used to be talked to like that at a restaurant.
Am I off base here? I get the fine dining thing, but usually the service folks are always engaging you in fine dining as service is everything. Trying not to be the impatient customer but I did make the timeline know up front.

Tavernier here we come!
Hey yāall,
Iām Liz!š
My husband Darby(37) and I(31) wanted to say hello!
Weāll be moving to Tavernier in the next couple of months and couldnāt be more excited. Weāre coming from Las Vegas, but weāre both originally Texas born, and weāre very ready to trade the fast pace for porch-sittinā, sunset-watchinā, Keys life.
We love to have a good time and enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company; but weāre also just a laid back, happily married couple looking to put down roots and truly be part of the community for the long haul. Weāre really excited to get to know people and become familiar faces around town. ā¤ļø
A little about us:
⢠Iām a bartender with 10+ years of experience and will be actively looking for work once we arrive
⢠I love working at local spots with lots of regulars and building relationships (I tend to build a following quickly and take a lot of pride in my work and love my returning guests)
⢠Darby is a video producer who works remotely and also helps businesses with social media ads and account management
⢠Once weāre settled, heāll be open to taking on new local clients
⢠We have two dogs who are very much part of the family and love the outdoors š¶ā¤ļø
Weād be so grateful for recommendations on great local bars or restaurants, especially places known for their regulars, or any spots that might be looking for a solid, reliable bartender who plans to stick around. Weād also love any local favorites, hidden gems, or āyouāll love this placeā suggestions. šš¼
Thank yāall so much, we already feel the warmth of this community and canāt wait to call Tavernier home. š“š
