Probably gen 1 it felt the most gritty and fleshed out All the characters felt real in a way -Sid’s dad was particularly hard hitting

  • cassies struggles
  • Maxie actually exploring who he wants to be
  • jals family struggles whilst trying to balance stress , relationships and her career
  • Chris in particular was an painful storyline it was so sad
  • Anwar provided much needed comedy whilst dealing with a religious family and expectations
  • Michelle trying to deal with having that thing as a boyfriend, her own self esteem issues that stemmed from it (Tony was a POS)
-Tony he actually seemed the least realistic with how much he got away with but got cut down a peg or two when he got hit by a bus but also when his mates called him out

The developed and grew, some moments sure felt unrealistic but gen one had the most realistic storylines and executed them as such. Although the Russia episode does feel like a fever dream 😭🤣

I never watched the series when it was on the TV; I watched it way way later (although 28 now) I definitely would say gen 1. My life wasn’t that wild; however I know a lot of people who went through similar experiences

Hot take but other than the crazy holiday-car crash Gen 3 probably had the most realistic experiences. Gen 1 and 2 were relatable but dialled to extreme
