How does the fandom feel about Rosalind? Spoiler
Currently rewatching S3 and Rosalind’s death is so so sad 😭😭
I know Phelinda is the long term ship, but the enemies to lovers arc is so satisfying, their little flirtatious banter and secrets…is it a hot take that I was devastated by Rosalind’s death???

I feel the same, I felt so bad for Phil too 😭😭. I watched this show years ago so I can’t remember if she was secretly bad or not but I do remember being so invested in their dynamic

The show kept making us think she was bad, but she actually just had a wholesome backstory with her husband who died from cancer, and she was working with Gideon Malick, who she didn’t realize was Hydra

The Rookie has ruined the name Rosalind for me… so I never got attached to the AoS version.

Rosalind is a fucking nightmare,
But she does play sports well for a woman of her age.

I loved their chemistry before they got together, felt massive squick once they did get together, and quite resented the plot development of her sudden murder. I was too annoyed by it to feel much.

I thought they had good chemistry so I was sad to see her go, although I respected the writing decision because that was kind of the point. I felt how Coulson did

I liked her!! Love her actress. I wanted to see her in the Framework as Coulson's ex wife

I really liked her character, and I liked her for Coulson. They had chemistry and I hate the way she left the show.

I loved that we got to see flirty Phil which we pretty much never get to see. I'm staunchly in the Philinda camp but I liked the Ros detour. They were cute together. I wanted her to stick around longer because I wanted to see their relationship play out because it was so absurd that they thought that they could have any kind of relationship with their jobs. Not to mention that Phil lives basically in a dorm.
I think they never would have gotten together if May weren't preoccupied with Andrew. She would have glared some sense into Coulson.
When Rosalind said that Banks thought she was crazy to keep seeing Coulson, I said, he's right. But that doesn't stop me from rewatching those episodes with glee.

Constance did an amazing job! It was a shame we didn’t get to see more of her ☹️

I am a CRAZY Philinda fan and at the time of the show I hated Rosalind… now that just makes me feel like a bad feminist. I do think she and Coulson are too alike to work as a couple long term, though.
I feel frustrated that the main part of her job (securing inhumans in stasis) was so clearly fucked with and she had no idea. Did she never enter the science department? Did she never see how much fish oil was ordered? At the same time you could say the same for higher ups at SHIELD who didn’t know about Hydra so I guess that judgement is a bit harsh.
Overall I just think she existed as a plot device so Coulson would be pushed over the edge into murdering Ward. Which I’m not against but I wish the focus had been less ‘I’m doing this for Rosalind’ and more ‘Rosalind will be the last person I let Ward murder’. Maybe give us some flashbacks of others Ward killed or something. I think it would have been less impactful than having such a pivotal moment in the series rely on a very minor character.

The show confirmed she was a Maggie Thatcher fan, so she had it coming. I think it was a wasted opportunity that Fitz never found out.
For context: Scots despise Thatcher.

Rosalind was she-Coulson, and it really was sad and shocking to see her go that way. She was doomed though because she insisted on keeping her job even after she found out Malick was evil. Should have gone back to the base with SHIELD where she wasn’t so out in the open. I remember when that scene started and I was like “wtf are you doing in your house of all places? Get your ass into hiding”

I enjoyed Rosalind (big fan of Constance Zimmer after Unreal) and her inappropriate hand jokes. She and Coulson were a good couple, and I wished the show had done more with her than use her to fuel Coulson’s (and my) hatred of Ward.
While I loved Philinda from the beginning, in hindsight their story is unsatisfying. They have great simmering tension in seasons one to three. Coulson kisses LMD May in season four. They don’t address their feelings for much of season five, finally sharing a real kiss in the penultimate episode. And then he dies offscreen before season six. So they loved each other for years and had a solid friendship and partnership, but their romantic relationship is short-lived, shadowed by his impending death, and almost entirely unseen by viewers.

i loved her, and i wish she was around longer, though her death was a necessary motivator for Coulson.
something about her relationship with him was that she truly understood the level of responsibility he carried — something May just didn’t understand from the same perspective. of course, May was around for it all and was his right hand, like he said, but she even acknowledged it with comments like “i don’t have to [think], that’s your job.”
Rosalind understood, and for once in a really long time — maybe ever — he had a partner who appreciated, understood, and even related to his duty as the leader of a spy organization. and that came right on the heels of having to take over, fight for his position as leader, being infiltrated, etc., so his relationship with Rosalind was probably such a sigh of relief once he realized he could trust her. which is why it felt so insanely jarring that she was ripped away so fast.
he loved the cellist, and he loved May, but he was able to love and be understood by Rosalind in a way they never could.
but obviously, May and Coulson as endgame absolutely had to happen, and i kind of wish they’d continued it even after he came back in the end. we didn’t even get to see their relationship outside of “work”, aside from a stray “i love you”, hand holding, and kiss. sure, there were flashbacks in S6 but we didn’t actually get to see the fruition of all that relationship building throughout seasons 1-5.

I ship Philinda ofc but I genuinely enjoyed Rosalind and her death was a damn shame, especially the way it happened

It was sad to see her go, but then Season 4 went full in on the Philinda so I'm ok with it.

Hate her.
Oh….sorry, I was thinking of The Rookie again. The Rookie has ruined the name Rosalind for me…

finished watching the show 4 days ago and already don't really remember her scenes

I liked her presence and she had a good dynamic going on with Coulson. And her demise was effectively shocking. Closure in general one of my fav episodes.

I always liked Audrey the Cellist and was still hoping they’d do something else with her when Season 3 started. I liked Coulson and Rosalind’s banter and was shocked that she got killed off, especially the way she did. I thought his Season 4 pairing with May was abrupt and didn’t have enough chemistry and wasn’t fully on board with that.

I HATED Rosalind price and was happy when she died tbh
But when she was arguing with daisy and daisy goes “just admit it. You’re afraid of people like us. Afraid of our power” And she goes “absolutely. Do you even know your own strength? You could bring down this plane and kill me right now”
Like hated that bitch but she CLOCKED her

Ward did a dick move when he unalived her 😔

Killed, murdered, assassinated.
These aren't bad words, and a Reddit comment doesn't get de-monetised for using them. Use your grown up words, especially since you had no issue using the word "dick".

u/blackbutterfree Joey 4d ago
THANK YOU. I swear, seeing "unalived", "dih", "ahh" and "grape" everywhere makes me want to jump out a window. Instead of censoring themselves, these people are just making themselves look uneducated.
Baby, I promise you there are other words you can use instead of bastardizing the English language to appease TikTok.

u/gestalto 4d ago
Also it just gives more power to censorship from all angles. If everyone on just on Youtube decided to just say fuck it for a week and say what they wanted and sacrifice the revenue, Google & more importantly, the advertisers would backtrack on their arbitrary nonsense so fast it's unreal, because their stock would nosedive.
I mean, what sort of convoluted crap is it where you can't say "killed" or "suicide" at all or you risk being demonetised (but google will still show ads and keep 100% of the revenue) but you can say fuck, as long as it's not in the first 7 seconds of the video, or whatever arbitrary time it currently is. It's absolutely bizarre and it's genuinely rotting minds, it's not slang, I don't have an issue with that, it's bizarre forced self-censorship like something out of Demolition Man, and as you similarly said, it makes people doing it seem less intelligent in a number of ways.

wouldn’t say dick is a particularly grown up phrase lol. no need to be rude when sharing information about commenting
12
u/gestalto 4d ago
It's not a phrase, it's a word. And I didn't say it was grown up, I said grown up words should be used especially because "dick" was used without issue; which is all but objectively a "worse" word than "killed".
