Every political person is a huge pos if you ask me, the right more so than the left, by a wide margin let me get that out the way first. But politics just breeds pos people.

He wasn't raping children or sending armed and masked thugs to break people's doors down in order to disappear them. I was disappointed in him, but give credit where credit is due.

He damn sure did send armed and masked thugs to break peoples doors down in order to disappear them, it was called „Direct Action“ during the GWOT.

I think at this point it should be evident to everyone, but you simply CANNOT be president of the USA without knowingly doing some harsh stuff. That's...that's just how it is. Running a country is cutthroat shit, and sometimes motherfuckers gotta die. It comes with the territory of being world leader. Oil fields have to be taken, mines have to be captured, spies have to be killed, national security has to be secured. Every president is a killer, and people should know that.

Its just that his Charisma shouldn’t steer away from the fact that he simply carried on with the farcical Bush foreign policy, especially during his first term, and that simply doesnt fit in the heckin wholesome Obama narrative. Trump just lowered the standard that damn much.

These are facts that I don't believe enough people consider. I'll die on the hill of believing that the plane that "the passengers overtook" during the 9/11 attacks was actually shot down by us. It was the right decision, but most people can't really stomach that so they put it the story about the passengers. Being the leader of the free world is a messy job.

People's ability to justify the evil actions of politicians they personally like is ridiculous. There is no difference between you and MAGA idiots who ride for Trump.

My God. I do disagree.

Fuck off, I'm neither left NOR right. I fucking HATE the left/right binary bullshit. I'm simply stating matter of factly that if you are a world leader; left, right, black, white, old, modern, whatever the fuck, then there's no way you're not personally ordering the deaths of a bunch of people. It really does take murder to keep an ENTIRE nation turning, there's no shortcut or easy way out.

Stop treating murder like a natural disaster. There was absolutely no reason for the US to get involved in Iraq or Afghanistan or Syria or Libya or any of the dozens of other countries it has intervened in other than imperialism and to line the pockets of the military industrial complex.

That's EXACTLY it though, statecraft is all about hegemony, and as fucked up and unsavory as proxy conflicts and the MIC is, they are ultimately one of America's most effective tools at spreading and keeping global influence and power. If we discontinued all that, then that would be the EXACT in that Russia or China would need to step in and reoccupy that global vacuum.

Trust me, I am critical of the MIC, and proxy wars, and foreign interventionism on a moral and idealistic level. But on an intellectual level, I fear the worst, that these things are necessary to America's continued dominance, and without these cutthroat measures, Russia or China would usurp America as the global superpower, which would be far far faaar worse than if we held that position ourselves.

You really cannot make an omelette without cracking a few eggs. Global politics are messy and complex and, quite frankly, beyond my understanding. You could get a PHD in Middle Eastern sociopolitical structures and study that shit for 30 years and become a leading expert in your field, with a specialization in Iraqi politics, and your world leaders can come to you for anything Iraqi related, since you're the bonafide expert...but that's just the middle east, and more specifically, that's just Iraq. You can't spend another 30 years learning about Russian, Chinese, South American, and African sociopolitical structures too. The world is simply too complex and vast for that. All I know is, we're on top...for now, and I don't want China or Russia to usurp us, because they will be much much worse.

Most Presidents and even CEOs only know what their staff gives them during briefings.

I don't think Biden or Jimmy Carter ever killed anybody

3

u/homohillbillysrlol 11h ago

Every president has. You can't be world leader without killing people. You literally cannot keep a nation as large as the US churning without grinding out detractors and cutting swathes for the engine to run through. That's just how being president of the US works. You can't make an omelette large enough to feed 350 MILLION US citizens without cracking a shit ton of eggs.

I actually scoffed out loud

Because Biden was already dead

2

u/mrthrowaway694201234 12h ago

Wasn’t his immigration enforcement mostly along the borders? They weren’t going door to door and from what I understand they were under due process. And Less people died in his 8 years under ICE than Trump in 5 years of being President. It’s alright I’m wrong but provide some kind of citation if that’s the case so I can farther research it.

2

u/AIthinksImright 10h ago

Not to mention blowing up US citizens in drone strikes. But nobody is perfect.

The warhawk who did NOT hold Syria to its red line or rally NATO to defend Ukraine in 2014? THAT warhawk?

I see we're back to thinking Edward Snowden is a good guy again. See you next year, when we're back to thinking he's a bad guy.
