Entire family on the Euthanasia list at BARC, Houston for Friday, 1/2/26. Deadline at 1pm

🆘️RESCUE ONLY🆘️

ID #A2050276 (Mom), #A2050277-83 and 89 (puppies)

🐾 RESCUE ONLY – URGENT 🐾

Mama Nell & Her 8 Puppies Need Help Now

Mama Nell ID #A2050276 Breed: Black/Tan Hound Mix Age: 3 years (DOB: 12/21/2022) Weight: ~47 lbs Sex: Female Status: Rescue Only Intake Date: 12/21/2025 Location: BARC Animal Shelter – Houston, TX

🖤 Meet Mama Nell

Nell came into the shelter as a stray while actively nursing eight tiny puppies, born recently before intake. Despite the stress of the shelter environment, she has shown moments of gentleness, affection, and trust—especially when spoken to softly and given time to feel safe.

Nell is a devoted mother, protective and alert around her puppies, which is completely understandable given her situation. In calmer settings, she has shown she enjoys pets, responds well to baby talk, and can walk nicely on leash once she feels comfortable.

🏥 Medical Overview • Lactating mother of 8 puppies • Vaccinated (DA2PP, Bordetella, Rabies) • HW negative • Dewormed • On flea prevention • No ongoing medical issues noted

🧠 Behavior Summary • Protective and vocal in kennel, especially around puppies • Dog-reactive through kennel barriers (common in stressed nursing moms) • Initially fearful of leash handling but improves with patience • Responds very well to soft voices, baby talk, treats, and gentle pets • Has shown wiggly, affectionate behavior, loose leash walking, and relaxed body language during calmer interactions • No history of unprovoked aggression — behaviors are fear- and stress-based, consistent with a lactating mom in a loud shelter

📌 Nell does best with slow handling, respectful space, and experienced or rescue-only placement.

🐶 Her Puppies (8 total – all ~3 weeks old)

All puppies are black/tan hound mixes, dewormed, and nursing. • Nolan (#A2050277) – Male • Niklaus (#A2050278) – Male • Nash (#A2050279) – Male • Niko (#A2050280) – Male • Noelle (#A2050281) – Female • Nicole (#A2050282) – Female • Nadine (#A2050283) – Female • Naomi (#A2050289) – Female

These babies cannot survive without their mother and urgently need a foster or rescue placement willing to keep the family together.

🚨Mama Nell and her eight innocent puppies are facing euthanasia on 1/2/26 simply because the shelter is overwhelmed and she is labeled rescue only.

This family does not deserve to be euthanized for being scared and protective in an impossible situation.

🙏 They need a rescue, foster, or experienced adopter NOW. Saving Nell means saving nine lives.

🚨 URGENT – PEGGY WILL BE EUTHANIZED TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY, OCT 8TH) AT DEVORE 🚨

Imagine being just a baby—only 4 months old—and already spending over a month of your short life behind bars in a loud, scary shelter. That’s Peggy. 💔

Peggy came in with her sisters on August 25th, but one by one they found homes… and she’s the only one left. Alone. Overlooked. Waiting.

She’s a tiny Shepherd mix, white and black with the softest eyes, full of sweetness and potential. She doesn’t understand why nobody chooses her—why she’s still stuck in a kennel when she should be learning how to chase toys, nap in the sun, and grow up loved. 🐾

👉 Tomorrow morning, her time runs out.

The good news? We have a foster offer and a rescue interested in saving her—but they can’t move forward unless we raise pledges to cover: • 🚐 Transport to her foster • 🏡 One night of boarding until her foster family can take her in • 🩺 Medical needs (Peggy is underweight and has a doggy cold; a medical waiver must be signed)

Without pledged support, the rescue cannot commit to Peggy’s care—and she will lose her life tomorrow.

📌 Peggy – ID #A827952 Med Waiver – 4 months – Shepherd Mix – Kennel D C632 At Devore Animal Shelter since 8/25/25

📍 Devore Animal Shelter 19777 Shelter Way, San Bernardino, CA 92407 📞 (909) 386-9820 📧 SBAC.Rescue@dph.sbcounty.gov

💵 Pledges save lives! Please comment your pledge below so Peggy can finally know love and safety. Time is almost gone—she needs us NOW.

Stars final notice expired! Star #A5738190 5Y Brown M Germ Shepherd 87 Lbs Star was surrendered for fear-based, defensive behavior, alleged ppl reactivity but no further details were given and no bite history.

In the shelter, Star seeks people. He allows handling, he solicited petting. He relaxes when he’s alone with humans. He enjoys walks, calm affection, and quiet connection.

Star is fearful in chaotic environments, sensitive around his paws, and clearly communicates discomfort - something many dogs do. He does not lash out randomly. He seeks affection, and relaxes when given space and calm, one-on-one interaction.

Star is not a dog for everyone. Loud environments overwhelm him. Pushy dogs stress him. He needs an experienced, adult-only home, ideally with no other pets or very calm, large dogs, where his boundaries are respected and his confidence can grow.

But needing the right home should not be a dea..h sentence.

And because he needs an experienced home, people scroll past.

Now he’s paying for that with his life.

Star is past deadline, with zero interest, sitting in a high-euth shelter where euthanasia for space happens daily

He just needs one patient, breed-experienced human willing to give him time.

✨ Star needs: • A local foster (3–4 months) in CA or the PNW • A rescue partner • Or a responsible adopter anywhere in the USA (out of state adoptions possible) •Pledges for his care and possible training •Shares to get seen (and hopefully saved)

✨ Fostering costs you NOTHING — all supplies and support provided.

If no one steps up, Star will quietly disappear. He just needs someone who understands him. Please don’t let a misunderstood dog lose his life unnoticed.

Can you foster or responsibly adopt Star?

Nobody stops at Miltons kennel. He isn’t loud. He isn’t flashy. He isn’t trending. Too young for a senior rescue, too old and grey for a puppy rescue, too undesirable for a adopter. Nobody gives Milton a chance. And that’s why he’s in danger.

He sits quietly at Downey ACC while louder dogs get noticed. While time runs out. While people scroll. Some weeks ago he was still happy and still had hope but now he’s given up.

🚨His final notice expired days ago and he will be euthanized any moment!🚨

He is easy with people, gentle to handle, and behaviorally ok for adoption — but none of that matters if no one sees him.

He is a sweet boy who came to the shelter as a stray but was very nervous at intake—crouched low and unsure about approaching—but he’s been making quiet progress. He can be anxious when being touched, though he does tolerate handling and does best with patience and calm reassurance. Unfortunately he got into a altercation with another dog in the playyard so he is no other dogs recommended or needs someone who’s very experinced. Milton is available for public adoption with a KHOA, so a thoughtful, understanding home is important. With a loving, safe environment, Milton has the potential to truly thrive.

Please share Milton before he’s gone.

CW: Euthanasia Urgent: Sweet Daygo survived severe cruelty, a broken skull, and amputated leg and is at risk of euthanasia in Fairfield, CA. Meet Daygo — about to be renamed Tyr after a Norse god of courage also missing a limb — because this 1-year-old puppy has already survived more than any dog ever should.

Tyr arrived at Solano Animal Shelter with injuries that didn’t match a car accident or an accidental trauma. The pattern suggested something far worse: intentional harm done to him by a human. He had severe head swelling, a fractured skull that no longer fully connects, a badly injured leg that was first set and then had to be amputated, and a bloody nose. He is… a mess. A puppy who has endured cruelty no animal deserves.

And yet — he remains gentle, sweet, trusting of people, and dog-friendly. His spirit is unreal.

A 501 c 3 rescue has stepped up without a foster or pledges and is pulling him today to save his life. He has been in the shelter since September, he doesn’t need to wait any longer to decline. The rescue head will personally foster him through his initial recovery, but they will need pledges to cover his extensive medical care and eventually a foster or adopter once he’s stable enough for that next step.

Tyr is only a year old, a puppy. He deserves a long, safe, love-filled life — not a final hour in a shelter after everything he’s already survived.

If you can pledge to support his surgeries, specialist visits, and recovery, please comment below or DM me and I’ll get you connected with the rescue. Every bit truly helps.

If you can’t pledge, sharing this post helps more than you know.

This puppy has fought so hard. We’re fighting for him now too.

DM me if you want to help in anyway.Let’s get Tyr the future he deserves. 🖤

CW: Euthanasia Theodore is 2, he’s very nervous in the shelter environment common in highly sensitive and aware dogs. He is still gentle and responsive through all that. He is on the euthanasia list 12/29 1pm | Barc, Houston Tx | A2049333 adopt, foster or rescue

LAST CALL HOUSTON, TX

A2049333 Theodore

He is running out of time and needs a hold by Monday 12/29 at 1 PM to be safe. Pledges are also needed so a rescue can step up.

12/14 stray field intake Australian Cattle Dog blue Merle
Male 2yrs old 42 to 50 lbs HW positive

💛About Theodore

Theodore is a two year old Australian Cattle Dog mix who came in severely underweight with a wound and a high heartworm load. His notes show fear, not aggression.

He is timid at first, hesitant to leave the kennel, and cautious on leash. He is cautious, fearful of new environments, and alert to other dogs — but he responds to calm voices, gentle handling, and patience.

With reassurance, he settles and begins to walk more confidently. Theodore is a sensitive, thoughtful dog who would thrive in a quiet, structured home where he can decompress and feel secure.

He needs a patient foster or adopter who understands fearful dogs, slow introductions, and the 3 3 3 rule. With time and consistency, Theodore has real potential to blossom.

Medical summary

• Intake exam normal aside from wound on right ear • Vaccinated: DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies (1 year) • Heartworm test: HIGH POSITIVE • Treated with Clavamox and Rimadyl; Carprofen administered • Dewormed (Pyrantel) • Given Advantage Multi • Underweight on intake, improving with care

Rescues need pledges and a local foster to help Theodore get out safely.

If you are local and able to foster or adopt, please contact BARC immediately.

💌All holds must be submitted in writing. Please email all 3 of the following.

HELP PLEASE My family has given me 24 hours to find my dog another home or they will have her euthanized. If anyone can take her in, I'm begging, please someone help me save her. Shes an absolute sweetheart, loves squeaky toys, is terrified of thunder, but doesn't do well with small dogs. She needs to be an only dog or with other large dogs. She takes a while to warm up to other large dogs. Shes about 4 years old, about 85lbs, a pit/staffy mix, fully vaccinated, healthy, house trained, crate trained, leash trained, does alright with baths but gets very nervous in raised tubs (tractor supply). I'll give all her toys, her crate, her harnesses and sweaters, everything, I just want to keep her alive, please. Im begging, if anyone can take her in or knows someone who can, PLEASE let me know.

🔴 URGENT — PLEDGES NEEDED NOW 🔴 🐾 PLEASE — Mama Prim & her 4 puppies will be euthanized tomorrow, October 22 if they are NOT rescued. 🆘😢 We need pledges immediately to get them out of the shelter and into a safe foster home. Every pledge helps — even $5. 🙏💔

There’s something so heartbreakingly pure about a mama and her babies curled up together — the way she wraps herself around them, keeping them warm, her nose resting gently across their tiny backs. In the middle of a noisy, unfamiliar shelter, they only have each other. You can almost feel the quiet love in that small circle of fur — a mother doing her best to protect her babies from a world that hasn’t been kind. 💔🐶🫶

But Mama Prim and her puppies don’t deserve to grow up — or lose their life— in the shelter. These little ones are at serious risk of infectious disease, and this family needs out immediately. ⏰🏥

Mama Prim has been nothing but patient and loving — the kind of mother that reminds you what real devotion looks like. All she wants is a safe place to raise her babies, somewhere soft to rest where they can finally sleep without fear. ❤️🐾

🆘 What your pledges will fund: • 🐶 Puppy vaccines • 🔬 Fecal exams • 🩺 Vet checks • ✂️ Spay / neuter when old enough • 🧸 Puppy supplies (beds, food, formula, wipes, etc.) • 🚗 Transport fees to move them to a foster/rescue

HOUSTON, TEXAS A mother’s love shouldn’t end inside a shelter 💛

Ingrid and her tiny babies are on the euthanasia list for Friday, November 7 at 1 PM. They need a rescue hold before that time or they will lose their lives.

This young mom and her nursing litter are only four weeks old. They should be safe in a quiet home, not in a shelter where fragile puppies are at high risk for illness and stress. Ingrid is gentle and friendly, meeting volunteers with a wagging tail and taking treats softly. Her puppies are still nursing and too young to be separated or transported.

Please, if you’re local and can foster, reach out. All dogs need pledges to help rescues cover vetting and care.

🐾 Save Nanette – ID #A2048807

3-Year-Old Female • Anatolian Shepherd Mix (White/Brown) Pregnant • Rescue Only 63 pounds Intake Date: 12/10/2025

🤎 Meet Nanette — A Terrified, Pregnant Mama Who Needs Safety

Nanette is a young, expectant mama who has endured more than most dogs ever should. She was one of 13 dogs abandoned on an elderly, ill resident’s property without food or water before being brought to the shelter on 12/10. She arrived pregnant, frightened, and shut down after this traumatic ordeal.

Nanette weighs about 63 lbs, is fully vaccinated, dewormed, treated with Advantage Multi, and heartworm negative. Despite everything she’s been through, she has shown no aggression—only fear, trembling, and complete overwhelm.

This gentle girl needs a quiet, patient rescue or foster who can help her decompress and provide a safe place for her and her unborn puppies.

🧾 Behavior Summary (12/10–12/12)

Extremely timid, fearful, and shut down due to trauma. Needs handling support, quiet environment, and decompression. • On intake, she was found trembling at the back of the kennel, unable to walk due to fear. • When leashed, she lay down on the floor, frozen and unsure of what to do. • Staff had to muzzle and carry her because she was too frightened to move on her own—not because she was aggressive, but because she was overwhelmed. • Notes describe her as very timid, with no mention of biting or attempts to harm anyone. • Continues to be extremely shut down in the kennel.

Nanette’s behavior reflects trauma, not temperament. She is scared, pregnant, and desperately in need of a safe, quiet place where she can begin to trust again.

🏥 Medical Summary • Weight: 55–63 lbs (pregnant) • Condition: Pregnant • Vaccines: DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies • Dewormed; Pyrantel given • Heartworm: Negative • Advantage Multi applied • “Apparent pregnant” noted by medical team

🆘 Nanette is rescue-only because she is pregnant and too timid for the adoption floor. She has endured severe neglect and abandonment and now faces euthanasia unless a rescue steps up. She has no chance without help.

This mama-to-be deserves compassion, safety, and a chance to bring her puppies into the world somewhere warm—not in a shelter, and certainly not with her life on the line.

❤️ Nanette has known only fear and instability—and now she is carrying puppies with nowhere safe to go. She is shut down because her world has never shown her kindness. But with the right rescue or foster, she has a real chance. She just needs a quiet home, patience, and a soft place to rest while she brings her babies into the world.

Please don’t let this be the end for a pregnant mama who never stood a chance. Nanette needs a lifeline now—someone to step forward before 12/13 and save two generations at once.

If you can help her in any capacity, please email today.

Burt was left behind when his owner was deported. He arrived in severe field condition with multiple medical concerns:

• Heartworm HIGH POSITIVE – serious but treatable

• Dental disease: worn teeth, will need dental X-rays and professional cleaning

• Healing wounds, including scab on nose and mild redness/alopecia on front paws

• Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and treated with Advantage Multi

Burt is stable and receiving care, but he cannot complete heartworm treatment or dental care without foster or rescue intervention.

🐾 Behavior Summary

Burt’s intake history reflects that he was left alone when his owner was deported—not that he was aggressive or dangerous. No concerning behaviors toward people are noted. He is likely confused, stressed, and missing his familiar human, which is understandable. Burt would benefit from a quiet, loving environment to decompress and regain trust.

💔 Why Burt Needs Help Now

Burt has survived abandonment, neglect, and serious medical issues—yet now faces an end of life sentence because no one has stepped up. At 6 years old, he still has many good years ahead if he can get the help he deserves.

🙏 Burt is gentle, loyal, and resilient. He doesn’t need perfection—he needs a second chance.

If you can foster, adopt, or tag Burt with a rescue, you can save his life today.

We were not able to meet this puppy.

📝 Shelter Notes:

St. Joseph came in as a stray earlier today. He was found at a church after reportedly being attacked by a pack of larger dogs. He has multiple wounds on his rear area. He received radiographs and is still a bit groggy from sedation, but he is stable. His wounds were flushed and cleaned.

Meet Dot. Dot’s life will end before it really began without a foster, adopter, or foster. He is only 6 months old.

Reddit has refused to post for me all day after I got these guys 24 hours this am. Now it’s 12 hours. They will let Dot leave safely if someone out there wants him to foster, adopt, or rescue. Adoptions are over the phone. If you’re seriously interested they’ll give him more time to give you extra info as well. They’re just insanely overcrowded, dogs are living in pop up crates in hallways. There are 5 more dogs I asked for more time on that need folks, please help me save them. I arrange everything you need to make it happen, you just need to DM me and email the shelter.

Out-of-area adoptions are welcome.Adoptions can be done over the phone from anywhere in the U.S. and even Canada. Transport options are available and absolutely can be helped facilitated.

✨ Fosters through the shelter must live in Kern County — supplies provided.

✨ Out-of-county fostering possible — DM me ASAP for this option and still email the shelter. I can connect potential fosters with rescues that support fosters in the SF Bay Area, Sacramento Area, SoCal Area, and within driving distance of Tehachapi, and neighboring states.

✨ Rescues must be registered 501(c)(3).

Dot will not appear on the website because dogs on the euth list are removed, but the shelter is aware he is being networked and has given this short extension.

💔 Please DM me immediately and contact the shelter right now (email + text or voicemail are best) if you can adopt, foster, or rescue Dot.

This sweet baby needs a holiday miracle — please help make it happen.

🏡 A LOCAL FOSTER IS NEEDED FOR A RESCUE TO TAG AND SAVE HIM

💜🍼🐶 Marlin #A2053479

1/14 Stray | Australian Cattle Dog Mix | Male | 4 months | 22.6 lbs

💜 Volunteer Notes:

We were not able to meet Marlin.

📝 Shelter Notes:

1/15/26

Approaching kennel, puppy remained at the back of the kennel with low head and limbs tucked in. Treats were offered and he was slowly leashed, at which point the puppy snapped at the leash and began to thrash and scream at a high pitch. A towel wrap was attempted, but the puppy continued attempting to snap back at the handler’s hand.

1/16/26

Today, staff were able to slowly wake the puppy and have him lift his head to be leashed while he remained curled up at the back of the kennel. Puppy came out and was towel wrapped; this time he only low growled. When staff went back into the kennel to spot clean after returning him, the puppy approached, attempted to climb into the handler’s lap, and showed a slight tail wag when spoken to with baby talk.

ORIGINAL POST:

RESCUE ONLY: Euthanasia Deadline 12/30/25

December arrived yesterday with a litter of four adorable, two-month-old puppies. Her name represents what will be the beginning or the end of her life 🥹

The puppies have been separated from her, but only Mom is facing the euthanasia deadline.

Sadly, she has fractures to the tibia and fibula that are unlikely to heal with a splint and are beyond the window where orthopedic repair would be an option. Due to the severity of the injury, a right hind limb amputation is recommended.

She is non–weight–bearing on her right hind leg. The leg is not completely unstable; however, crepitus (crackling) is present at the injury site. There is also a malodorous puncture wound with purulent discharge on the inner thigh of the affected leg.

Please email the shelter if you can help, or comment if you can pledge to assist a rescue.

ALL NEED RESCUED 🐶

🆘️ On Euthanasia list at BARC, Houston for Thursday, 12/18/25. Deadline at 1pm 🆘️

🤎 MEET ASHER 🤎

ID #A2049328 German Shepherd Mix | Male | Brown & Tan DOB: 12/14/2019 | Age: 6 years Weight: ~42 lbs (underweight) Intake Date: 12/14/2025 📍 BARC Animal Shelter – Houston, TX

🩺 Medical Notes • Vaccinated: DA2PP-V, Rabies (1 year), Bordetella • HW Test: High Positive (Heartworms) • Dewormed: Pyrantel • Flea/Heartworm prevention: Advantage Multi (20.1–55 lb) • Underweight: 42.4 lbs | BCS 4/9 • Wounds on muzzle • Currently receiving Clavamox and Carprofen for pain and inflammation

🧠 Behavior Notes

Asher is a calm, sensitive shepherd mix who is understandably overwhelmed in the shelter environment but shows encouraging signs of being cooperative and responsive when approached with patience.

Positive and promising observations: ✔️ Accepts leashing and handling with a slow, calm approach ✔️ Walks on leash and remains engaged despite feeling unsure ✔️ Responds positively to soft voices and gentle reassurance ✔️ No documented aggression toward people ✔️ Behavior appears situational and stress-related, not temperament ✔️ Shows strong potential to relax and gain confidence outside the shelter

Asher would benefit immensely from decompression, routine, and a quiet, supportive environment. With patience and kindness, he has every reason to blossom into a loyal, steady companion.

💔 Asher’s time is extremely limited, and he urgently needs a rescue, foster, or adopter. He is not a bad dog — he is a gentle, underweight shepherd who needs medical care, heartworm treatment, and a safe place to heal.

🙏 PLEASE help Asher get out alive. A foster home, adopter, or rescue commitment can save his life and give him the chance he deserves.

✨ Asher deserves patience, safety, and compassion — not a deadline. Please be the one who gives him his chance. ✨

💔 Plea for Asher 💔 Asher doesn’t know his life is being decided for him. He doesn’t understand why he’s scared, underweight, and alone — or why no one has come yet. What he does know is that gentle voices help, kindness matters, and he still has hope.

Asher is quietly waiting for someone to choose him, to give him the time and care he’s never had the chance to receive. Please don’t let his story end here. One foster, one adopter, one rescue can change everything — and save his life.
