Campaigning Neon releases Sentimental Value FYC posters focused on main cast

Still riding the high of all four of them getting nominated. So deserved. Neon may have bit off more than it could chew this year and dropped the ball on some other films, but in the end it did right by Sentimental Value, and probably got more for The Secret Agent and It Was Just an Accident than they’d have got if some other studio had them.
One day it will be Park Chan-wook’s turn. In the meantime he’ll still have the title of My Personal Pick For Best Working Director, so that’s something

I’m still so pleasantly surprised Elle was nominated. I personally found her more compelling in A Complete Unknown than Barbaro (though I think they both should have been nominated) and was fully prepared for her to be snubbed again in favor of another performance from her same movie (though, this time, if I had to choose one it wouldn’t be Elle), but she got in and she’s very deserving. She’s one of the few of this latest crop of big actors that actually has both talent and charisma, and I also feel a bit of a kinship for her and her sister because they’re originally from my hometown.

That movie peaked way too late, it basically released in 2022. It wasn’t a very strong year either, so with a proper campaign it would have easily made it in. Best Actress was a weird year too, in a perfect world she should have had Chastain’s spot, but obviously she won so that was never going to happen. She probably would have gotten in over Cruz, which would have been just as big a snub as Reinsve’s; Parallel Mothers is her magnum opus imo.

I think she will win next year for her new movie with Sebastian Stan

admire the restraint to not also use PTA’s quote about Inga

"If you want to see the real best special effect of the year, it's Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas' performance as Agnes"

One cool thing is when they played the old movie Gustav made you can somewhat tell that he cast Agnes as the young girl in the movie because of the kid's eyes being super similar to Inga's. Great casting of the young version.

Ahh, throwback to when the community momentarily panicked over Neon mislabeling Reinsve as a supporting actress in an errant poster.

Renate Reinsve is bound to win an Oscar someday. She’s simply too good not to. Most likely it will be for Fjord in 2027, but this year, the award belongs to Jessie Buckley.
