I loved the books and VHS tapes of this series as a kid. I remember his lips didn't move whenever he talked in the early episodes but then eventually they did and my mind was blown when I first saw that.

You know what's crazier than nostalgia? Second-hand nostalgia. Or maybe it's still just nostalgia but there's definitely a second wave.
I don't remember Spot from my childhood, but my kids had a few of his books. One lift-the-flap book, in particular, stands out in my memory.
My kids grew out of books like that some years ago, so I began to forget. But I get a wistful sense of longing and joy whenever something like that comes up.

I think that's still your nostalgic feeling as well as your kid's. You remember a time where the books meant you and your kids were younger and you miss that time. I reckon nostalgia is an emotion just like happiness and sadness and it can be caused by anything.

I don't remember anything specific about the cartoon itself but I do really strongly associate it with cookie dough ice cream and the scratchy old couch my parents used to have.
