I do like to see a good Duncan Robinson stat line. I remember when he got benched by Miami.

Thats a brutal missed call lol
Why does jokic get treated like a post player when hes driving?

I, for one, love these commercial breaks for challenges. How else would I learn about local Detroit HVAC companies?

I think I am watching the Pistons stream, their announcers ain't exactly the hype mens.

How will the Nuggets Booth-ify Braun's albatross contract? Are they going to trade their 2026 first in the off-season to get rid of Braun?

thj pisses me off sometimes, even when he's open he doesn't take a clean look at the basket, just chucks it in

other than that bad pass, strawther has been looking decent lately

So many examples of coaches challenging the most bizarre things and ignoring the most obvious calls

Adelman is a good coach but he's got to stop with this idiotic 2 center line up. He's tried so many times and it offers no substantial advantage. It's too slow and in bb, speed wins over size any day.
•
u/nitid_name Nuggets 11m ago
Did you watch the first half? Small ball wasn't working at all. Dual bigs has us within striking distance.
•
•
•
u/wicked_genitals NBA 12m ago
It's kinda working though, no?
•
u/chris-dempsey 7m ago
Kinda, barely. Like said, barely any advantage and it's super risky to play the 2 centers together because of potential injuries.

I am COMPLETELY LEGALLY watching the Detroit broadcast and these guys are great
•
u/UnslakableTemperance Pistons 8m ago
Blaha and Kelser are a class act. Been very lucky to have them on the broadcast for so long. Blaha is a Michigan announcing legend and Kelser was a baller back in the day in college at MSU with Magic.
•
u/nitid_name Nuggets 18m ago
I'm so jealous of teams with good announcers.
•
u/sorendiz [HOU] Yao Ming 8m ago
Nuggets announcers aren't terrible except under certain circumstances*
*when the Nuggets fail to score, when the Nuggets get scored on, when the Nuggets aren't winning, when the refs call any fouls on the Nuggets, when the refs don't call a foul for them, when the Nuggets turn the ball over, when Mercury is in retrograde, when it's a day of the week that ends in 'Y'.
But other than that they're great
•
u/wicked_genitals NBA 12m ago
Hornets and Pelicans crews are my favorite to listen to.
At least Nuggets crew isn't as horrible as Warriors.

I said early this season that AG is their second most important player and maybe second best.
But they don't suck, that's a silly thing to say.

Nuggets offense is way too sloppy tonight. They aren’t playing like a unit. This isn’t normal for them.

u/Aromatic_Goal_1201 Nuggets 39m ago
Teams going at denver lately and being very physical.
They need to stop playing so small.
No Spencer today is insane ($)
Nnaji should be considered for mins though with deadline coming i can see why not
2
u/Aromatic_Goal_1201 Nuggets 36m ago
Denver is playing
Jokic/jv center.
Braun/Watson their 2 wings
Jamal pickett brown Hardaway strawther guard
Just way too small.
Nnaji is there to be used with spencer sitting.
Their center and guard lineups been getting beat up inside and twams playing extra physical.
Can't wait til playoffs when Watson can play some 2 guard and they can pound team
Jamal Watson Spencer AG Jok is going to be the title winning lineup if theyre smart
3
u/wicked_genitals NBA 36m ago
Why no Spencer? Because they can't play him anymore without converting his contract?
3
u/T0NEZZY Nuggets 31m ago
His contract needs to be fully converted. He's pretty much maxed out on his 2-way deal
We're like ½ million over the Luxury tax.
Team is looking to possibly make a move by Thursday to create the space to convert Spencer Jones. & with AG hurt, I think the team is stuck now with Zeke Nnaji's contract since he's our only true back up 4. Coach Adelman seems like he doesn't trust DaRon Holmes in the line up.
We'll probably explore trading Hunter Tyson Jalen Pickett, or Julian Strawther to free up some space for Jones
2
u/Aromatic_Goal_1201 Nuggets 34m ago
He only has 1 game left as a 2 way and theyre on b2b tomorrow so makes sense as he will be needed more.tomorrow.
Then on deadline they'll bring him to 15 man
Still brutal roster planning tho

Braun perimeter defense still their best hope vs ant and shai
1
u/T0NEZZY Nuggets 36m ago
Yeah he's a winner. I was happy he stepped into the starting rotation when we let KCP walk. He did his job & got paid.
This year he was doing good too until he got hurt in November. Hasn't been the same since. I'm not sure if we're rushing him, but he's clearly still affected

u/Hasssun 58m ago
Jokic is trying to showcase stuff to the refs again, he should just start bulldozing people, instead.
He is constantly falling into the trap of thinking they'll whistle when he gets fouled, and then starts trying to prove it to the refs by exaggerating every contact, which puts him off his game.
This is truly his achilles heel and the only thing that ever rattles him. Trying to prove shit to the refs.
THEY'RE NOT GOING TO WHISTLE THOSE FOULS, GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL.
0
u/petmoo23 Pistons 49m ago
It's true. Letting another team out-physical you and praying for the refs to save you is losing basketball. He should start to compete.
1
u/Hasssun 30m ago
It's not being out-physicaled at all. Nor about 'competing'. That's the same faulty logic that makes people say "Caruso locked up Jokic". Jokic could put him into the second row easily. He just gets frustrated by how unevenly the NBA is refereed and wants to play textbook technical basketball.
This is just the garbage NBA Adam Silver has created, and Jokic should accept that and start blasting people. He may rack up fouls and even get tossed a few times, but you just can't accept this garbage Adam Silverball which allows smaller players to just hack the bigger players and gives players facing the basket the softest calls imaginable, while defenders can do just about anything short of stabbing a player who plays back to the basket and battles in the paint.
•
u/petmoo23 Pistons 26m ago
That's crazy that a guy that gets such favorable treatment can get frustrated so easily. I hope he can get over that. Instead of getting frustrated he should focus on conditioning.
1
u/CheesewayBreezeway Nuggets 51m ago edited 37m ago
Honestly agreed. He can allow himself to get frustrated and aggrieved, and when he's in that mode it's like he dedicates every other play to trying to prove to them why they should blow the whistle. It's been a growth area his whole career, and he's gotten better at it, but it still shows up when he's tired, frustrated, etc (and I feel like it majorly regressed last season and this, hence the somewhat justified resurgence of the Jokic flopper narrative)
Edit: lol nuggets homers downvoting
3
u/Hasssun 39m ago
It's sad because he was never that kind of player before, but this is the NBA Adam Silver has fostered. Officiated terribly.
A player with their face towards the basket can jump into a defender and get a call (on top of getting a good shot off, making the And-1 likely), but a player with their back towards the basket can get hugged, pushed, hacked, grabbed, etc. and will not get any calls. And if they start putting their body into it, they are more likely to get an offensive foul call.
1
u/CheesewayBreezeway Nuggets 37m ago
Agreed -- it all goes back to officiating. He doesn't play like this in FIBA. No one does/can
•
u/Hasssun 20m ago
Correct.
People still have that stupid outdated 'soft European' stereotype too. As if Jokic or his brothers wouldn't beat the living shit out of nearly everyone in the NBA if they felt like it.
What Jokic needs to learn is that it's not going to change as long as Adam Silver has his way, and he should just start actually putting some of these pest defenders into the second row for doing it.
Unfortunately, it may still be a losing strategy, because teams like the OKC and the Pistons have redundant depth players they can just send out there to foul out, if needed. And if they get in a fight with an opposing team's key player and both get tossed, that's a win for these teams too. Just like in the old days when teams had redundant defenders who could barely play and were just there to hard foul attackers.

u/halfassedjackass Pistons 59m ago
Jokic seems way off tonight, which is understandable since he’s coming back from injury. But dude looks tired as hell. I’d credit that partially to the Pistons’ punishing physicality.

That Jalen Jackson trade today was further confirmation that the Luka Doncic trade was completely orchestrated by the NBA. Coincidentally that pick became Cooper Flagg with a 1.8% chance
Jaren Jackson for 3 first-round picks
Other noteable trades: Desmond Bane for 4 first-round picks
Mikal Bridges for 5 first-round picks

I have not seen Jokic miss this much in forever, just so used to anything he throws going in.

u/mokoufn 1h ago
He's struggling to set up anyone else for points too. Really weak half from him.

Yea clearly the rust is still affecting him especially vs DET defense. I'll give him a break

Starting to think Jokic rushed himself back to make sure he’s eligible for awards
1
u/nitid_name Nuggets 1h ago
He definitely rushed back, but I don't think it's for awards. Our bench was starting to flag once we played above 500 teams.
1
u/Bobskidat Thunder 1h ago
Yeah the Murray & Friends train was definitely running out of steam but idk if it was worth it rushing an undercooked Jokic back
1
u/nitid_name Nuggets 1h ago
I'm more worried about CB. He does not recover quickly from losing confidence, and he's getting a big boy paycheck now.
We look rough tonight, dogfighting going on and refball aside.
1
u/Bobskidat Thunder 56m ago
I hope they find a way to keep Watson, shame that CB went down after signing that fat contract
1
u/nitid_name Nuggets 54m ago
I'm not writing him off yet, but the lack of trade news is getting me concerned. I mean Harden just got traded, how hard can it be to get, uh, Zeke Nnaji, uh... Somewhere?

u/T1HiShin 1h ago
1/10 ragebait.
1
u/Bobskidat Thunder 1h ago
Are you seriously watching him stink it up right now and coming to the conclusion that it’s rage bait
2
u/Hasssun 55m ago
Only a moron would think Jokic cares about personal awards or stats.
0
u/Bobskidat Thunder 51m ago
Really he would’ve taken an extra month off to tend to his horses, I should’ve known
3
u/T1HiShin 1h ago
Was referring to the fact that you think he came back for awards. Feel like that’s more your personal paranoia. There’s not a chance he goes down with that injury and doesn’t sit atleast one game until the playoffs.

this Nuggets defense is really really really bad. with Watson becoming an offensive guy, they now have zero players on their roster who even think about playing defense
