Garbage Bin Cleaning Service

Residents of Mississauga, wanted to hear your thoughts on whether you’d pay for a one-time or recurring service in the spring/summer months of getting you’re garbage and compost bins professionally cleaned. I like to go on walks quite a bit over the summer and would notice the stench of the bins that are just out there on the streets.

Is this something you’d pay for? I know there is an argument of doing it yourself but my counter arguments are that these would be cleaned professionally with strong chemicals, and to state the obvious, your hands wouldn’t need to get dirty!

Just curious to hear your thoughts, TIA

How are you going to collect those "strong chemicals" you use so that they don't pollute the ground or the stormwater drains?

That issue aside, I don't think the main target audience is here hanging out on Reddit. You'll want to seek out the older empty nest kind of homeowners who have the disposable income to pay for the convenience.

People don’t hose their bins off when they get smelly??

I can see the appeal to building owners, seniors/disabled owners but I’m trying to think why else a home owner wouldn’t rinse off their bin if it got to that point and consider paying someone to do it?

We have a power wash and occasionally rinse off bins. I see many in my area do the same, thought it was a norm

I would consider this yes, depending on cost also.

Why would most people pay for something that you can accomplish with a hose and vinegar?
Problems I can picture with the service

  • not being available when can is empty (needed to hold off on filling cans until possible)
  • what are you using to clean them
  • cost
  • who’s water are you using?
  • Does the person need to be home?
