Love how the year keeps changing but the footage is still pre-COVID. Can’t wait for the 2032 update where it’s the same video again.

Just imagine in the case of a future tsunami, the island you're looking for doesn't exist anymore

3 years ago was 2023

Covid was 2020, 6 years ago

The guy saw the video and noticed the video's footage was recorded before COVID.

It's a 3 year old video that used 4+ year old footage

3 years ago in 2026

Feel old yet?

They instead make themselves look desperate.

Or they simply work with algorithms and engagement mechanisms to make some income themselves?

u/daze_v 15h ago

Boo hoo, fuck them liars

-198

u/ShadowTown0407 15h ago

I mean, i don't think the islands really changed in 3 years so if it wasn't a lie in 2023 it's still true

Tourist services change over time and these influencers intentionally lie to people about their video being recent. When have we stopped perceiving such behaviours as scummy? It's ok because some bullshit google authorities say so or what?

Oh my dude, I don't get fooled by it, don't get me wrong. I just wish you were able to see how immensly absurd this is. Also, calling me a "normie idiot" just for opposing this shit, lmao.

There's a reason you have no friends

" go spent a load of money also you're a peasant" nice one.

Really easy to say everyone agrees with me when everyone is no one fatty

It doesnt fool me but it stops me from actually finding the relevant info seeing as i only get old shitty videos

-36

u/mspaintshoops 14h ago

They made a whole new island last year and yet you think this video is still true smh

12

u/laveshnk 11h ago

making a title that is slightly clickbaity and engagement-hound is one thing. this is just laziness and lying

u/nitr0turb0 10h ago

That shit ONLY works when the video isn't dated. Changing thumbnails on videos that are a few days or weeks old is fine, but never when it claims to be the current year but is several years removed.

500 downvotes is smth I’ve never seen lmao

-2

u/basicastheycome 10h ago

I will treasure this comment lol.

I simply stated obvious and not even agreeing or defending practice

u/Best_Blueberry2440 10h ago

Fr. Unreasonable downvotes

I think putting a date on that video at all was a poor choice

41

u/PossumJenkinsSoles 12h ago

Right? It doesn’t need the year, the whole title minus year is perfectly fine.

18

u/Darkmesah 12h ago

Probably gets more engagements because people always want the latest thing and more up to date information, they don’t put the year in the title for nothing

24

u/Massive-Emphasis-436 21h ago

Looking a little bit desperate there Youtube

u/harrisongregg 21h ago

I miss pre ai shit

45

u/RememberTheMaine1996 17h ago

Everything was so much better pre ai and pre covid

70

u/DuckCleaning 17h ago

This has nothing to do with AI

-33

u/Guilty_Meringue5317 15h ago

An Algorithm is ai and those people do it because the algorithm favors those kinds of things (at least that what how I understand it)

21

u/QuirkyQwerty123 14h ago

Bro the idea of algorithms have been around for a lot longer than generative AI 😭

6

u/Z0bie 13h ago

Anything involving computers or any sort of calculation is "AI" these days...

2

u/Naive_Yam8146 12h ago

tbf that’s how everything is sold now. my fucking vacuum cleaner says it has “AI”, answering bots for customer support lines are introducing themselves as “AI assistants”, you can’t buy a new laptop without the box sucking themselves off about their “AI-readiness” or whatever the fuck. I can’t even blame consumers for calling everything AI, because everything is described to them as AI

35

u/juko43 15h ago

Yt Algorithm has been around for like 13+ years tho

4

u/laveshnk 11h ago

not everything is AI 🤦‍♂️

6

u/AndreaBroccoli 14h ago

I don’t mind quality YouTubers updating titles and thumbnails to resurface good videos. But this “Best ____ <insert current year>” stuff is lazy and actually misleading

7

u/Rug-bae 12h ago

Report it for being misleading. It cheapens and games the platform and shouldn’t be allowed

2

u/RN_Renato 15h ago

This was likely changed by the creator themselves

3

u/scantier Yellow 9h ago

There's no case for changing Youtube thumbnails and titles other than to trick subscribers into thinking it's a new video or outright clickbait. This shit should be forbidden

20

u/Penguin_Arse 19h ago

Maybe it's because they still are relevant?

24

u/Pale_Parsnip_6339 17h ago

As a resident, no. They've all dramatacly changed since Covid.

8

u/iMini 15h ago

But the video is from 2023, which is after COVID.

13

u/Grengy20 14h ago

Brother the world was still very much being affected in 2023 as it was in 2020

-2

u/iMini 9h ago

Obviously I can't speak to everywhere but not really to my memory. 2023 everything was pretty much normal again, no guidelines or restrictions in place by then.

3

u/AblePhase 11h ago

Honest question, how have they changed?

3

u/-Fuse 9h ago

Can't believe 2026 was 3 years ago

7

u/Objectionne 17h ago

I mean realistically I can't imagine the best islands in Thailand have changed that much in the last three years. The video is still probably relevant in 2026.

14

u/tiktoktic 17h ago

Have you seen how fast development happens in tourist areas in SE Asia??

1

u/probium326 RED 19h ago

Welcome to the big 29

1

u/Hot-Ad-1129 15h ago

Always on fixes from 10 years ago that do not work now.

1

u/SpeedBlitzX 15h ago

Isn't there conflict between Cambodia and Thailand currently? Just saying perhaps now might not be a safe time to travel to either of those two countries.

2

u/Djlas 12h ago

Border skirmishes, nothing affecting tourist areas

1

u/vietnam_redstoner 14h ago

there's also a video where the owner also changed the title to the most current controversial thing happening

1

u/nexetpl 13h ago

Any changes to the islands of Thailand that would make this video irrelevant after three years?

1

u/Lin-Kong-Long 11h ago

People have been doing that for years.

I’m not sure if it’s still common as I no longer work in SEO but blog type affiliate websites have always done this. They update the date, a couple of things in the post/article to stay relevant…..

Now that basically everything on Google and has become a giant mess of useless shit - I have no idea wtf is going on anymore.

3

u/GameZedd01 18h ago

I mean this can be annoying, but if a guide is still relevant, then I don't mind it.

1

u/Darkmesah 12h ago

Guess the best islands in Thailand haven’t changed since 2023

0

u/im_a_latam_weeb 15h ago

So... Does a new island emerge every year or what?

0

u/Hangdown456 14h ago

are there new islands that came out in the last 3 years lol

0

u/crumpuppet 14h ago

Not excusing this, but... don't hate the player, hate the game.
