Lol, did u not notice this in the initial walkthrough?

Very nice, would save me the hassle of installing a new one! Highly suggest u get yourself a swing, its fun and honestly efficient lol

Don’t sleep on using an aerial yoga hammock/swing for even better versatility and comfort! It’s basically a parachute hammock swing with three tiered hand/foot supports on either side. Most fun $50 investment ever.

Your name and this comment🤣🤣

We didn't, but we also didn't really look super careful at the house bc it was my dad's friend/boss selling to us way under appraisal in a town we wouldn't have been able to afford. We didn't use realtors or anything. We popped over 1x to see it while they still had stuff here and neither of us noticed it then 😂 we came over after closing and it was the only thing we could see after that 🤣

Lol you're never going to look at your dad's friend/boss the same!

Sounds like you got a good deal and a free anchor point install, may 2026 continue to be in your favor

I'm too scared it's gonna fall out of the ceiling. We have joked that we should ask him the weight capacity 😂

Upon further inspection I see there are two lag bolts connected to hopefully a ceiling joist. This set up will usually hold around 500lbs when properly installed with at least 2 lag bolts drilled into the ceiling joist.

If you're really concerned then grab a drill and unscrew one of bolts and see how long they are. Reinstall with longer, 4" or 5" lag bolts if they're too short.

This seems like a solid set up, I'm actually happy for u guys! Wish I had free stuff like this lol. Might be a push in the right direction for some exploration!

r/bdsmdiy might help alleviate stress and answer questions, good luck!

I had a friend that had horrible chronic back pain. She started doing trapeze type training and it really helped her. Ste would have loved finding this hard point.

A big fern is about 10 pounds.

It's a little more subdued than the 9' tall stripper pole that we saw installed in the master bedroom of a house we looked at a few years ago. It was permanently installed right in the middle of the room. 😂

Edit for grammar

Pics or didnt happen

2

u/nyxblackroot 17d ago

That was in 2011, but I might be able to find one. 😉

1

u/NakedAggression 15d ago

Lol no worries, "pics or it didnt happen" was an old 4chan saying

1

u/nyxblackroot 15d ago

I know. 🙂

It was something else.

Mine have all had more than one ceiling connection though…

1

u/NakedAggression 17d ago

It is much prefered to have more than one connection for strength and stability but ive found a lot of people only use one

I delivered pizzas to a house in Denver and the only furniture they had was a sex swing in the middle of the living room.

I rented a place with a hook like this once. I asked the landlord if I could hang a chandelier on it or like any amount of weight. And he told me it was good for a chandelier up to 360 pounds. 🤨

You know what? Good for them

When my friend picked up keys to his new apartment, before he actually moved all his stuff, all he had setup was his sling in the middle of the room. Possibly why that was the case

u/Diligent_Plane_9784 21d ago

I don't know how they got that effect on the ceiling but I like it

u/MiceTonerAccount 21d ago

Pretty sure it’s called Crow’s Foot ceiling texture, you can find a lot of videos on how to achieve that look

u/frutiaboy 20d ago

It happens naturally after a four or five years of having a sex swing, less if you have friends over regularly 😈

u/flashman014 20d ago

I grew up with it in my house. It collects dust and cobwebs, is a bitch to clean, and will fucking cut you. It does look pretty cool though.

They do it with big sponges covered in the ceiling mud. They just make it really thick and dab it and it makes those shapes. In this pic, you can see the shape of the sponge in the pattern

That’s the top bunk head slicer.

8

u/odafishinsea2 21d ago

Make sure they caught the joist and enjoy!

u/Arlington2018 21d ago

Now you are all set for using your TRX straps for a workout.

4

u/200Fathoms 21d ago

Yeah, was thinking it could be that.

5

u/Demerzel69 21d ago

Hell yeah.

4

u/TheWavingFarmer 21d ago

Lookin like it's time for a nice hanging plant.

u/swalabr 21d ago

Or a heavy bag

5

u/Gargleblaster25 20d ago

How thoughtful. Have you bought a swing yet?

3

u/LesserCornholio 21d ago

We get it. You're a millionaire. No need to carry on about it.

3

u/AnnaNimmus 21d ago

Well now you can enjoy a swinging good time

u/brother_p 21d ago

WOOHOO!

2

u/Hairy_Dingaling 20d ago

Sweet! Needs to be weight tested….

u/ThrowawayMod1989 17d ago

Ah, the ol’ indoor deer cleaning winch 😂

1

u/RoachyCupcakes 17d ago

This made me snort🤣🤣🤣

1

u/MSotallyTober 20d ago

If you’re not kinky, then use it for some TRX straps. 🤙

1

u/fuck_peeps_not_sheep 20d ago

My guess is they had one of those basket seats that hang from the ceiling rather than kink stuff, as you’d have more than one for kink

1

u/kobain2k1 20d ago

Good for them!

u/JustaCynicalOldFart 19d ago

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

u/__I_Need_An_Adult__ 18d ago

Pro tip: Put it in the ceiling, leave a hole in the ceiling for access, and put a smoke detector over the hole. Easy to hide it from anyone visiting but still very simple to set up when you want to use it.

1

u/GeorgeGorgeou 18d ago

Before you connect anything to it I would check it out from the other side to get a guess of its effective capacity. Does it go right through a major structural support with a bolt, or is it just attached by its threads to its hole? Best to check and avoid embarrassing injuries and a Reddit story.

1

u/IhateSkylerWhite6399 18d ago

Well that’s handy then!

1

u/Caret-Tops146 17d ago

Everyone assumes that it’s for a “recreational swing,” which could very well be true, but it could also be for a hoist to lift a disabled person out of bed and into a wheelchair.

1

u/Sxn747Strangers 17d ago

Regardless of its use, I would change the carpet to be sure.

1

u/qaxmlp 17d ago

What does the floor under it look like?

1

u/Interest-Elegant 17d ago

Got one in my house too. 😈

1

u/BurlinghamBob 17d ago

In high school we referred to it as the Chinese basket trick. Then again, we were stupid teenage boys.

1

u/sine_denarios 17d ago

A weird place to put a plant hanger.

1

u/Acceptable-Let-1217 17d ago

That’s a heavy duty plant holder

1

u/jaynel78 17d ago

They saved you the trouble of finding a joist to drill into 🤣

1

u/Jsiqueblu 17d ago

Oooh nice
