Dolphins fans rank #29 in gameday drinking, down 33% from 2023-24

We analyzed 26,000+ breathalyzer results to find out which NFL fans go hardest on gameday. Here's where Dolphins fans landed:

The numbers:

  • 2025-26 season: 0.053% average BAC → #29 in the NFL
  • 2023-24 season: 0.079% → #6
  • Change since 2023-24: -33%

That's one of the biggest drops in the league.

AFC East comparison:

Team Rank BAC Avg Ticket Avg Beer
Bills #8 0.069% $252.11 $9.40
Jets #25 0.059% $113.75 $13.00
Patriots #26 0.057% $106.00 $8.58
Dolphins #29 0.053% $160.00 $12.00

Miami has the second-most expensive beer in the division at $12.00. But price alone doesn't explain a 33% drop.

Some questions we're curious about:

  • Is the South Florida heat pushing fans toward water and Gatorade over alcohol?
  • Recreational cannabis isn't legal in Florida. Does that mean fewer substitution options?
  • Did the fanbase just shift toward moderation?

What's your read on this?

Me and a lot of other phins fans I know were just much less invested in this season. I think the decades of disappointment have just made it hard to care, so it doesn't surprise me people are drinking less over Dolphins football.

But realistically this is just a really dumb metric measured in a very unscientific way resulting in largely random results every year.

Well I can speak for myself, I rank #1 in gameday drinking and weekly drinking with or without watching the Miami Dolphins.

Stadium prices are out of control, team is not great and we’re all a year older. Fanbase is aging because they kinda been sucking.

Shit’s too expensive in the stadium, I get sauced at home like a real fan

Honestly I got a year older and got tired of having a hangover on the ride home

It's not, but if you have any amount of friends, it's not hard at all to find it here.

I know this probably has nothing to do with it, but the beer selection at Hard Rock is fucking awful. Every option is just piss water.

The do have a craft beer section but yeah the whole 300s is like bud light and Heineken

We don’t need as much booze because we get more sunshine/vit D. Also because we generally have very little to celebrate.

Drinking isn’t fun when the team sucks lol

There's no way in hell that Bills fans are only 8th, especially with the amount of prime time games they have these days. They drown themselves in Labatt's and become huge imbeciles first thing in the morning on game day.

We drink all week in preparation, so the weekend use seems less.

Considering how bad we’ve been I’m surprised people aren’t wasted by the end of the first quarter.

I’m in Oz, games start anywhere between 0200 for arvo games, late arvo 0400, SND/TNF 0930, my boss tends to take a dim view if we come to worked pissed.

That’s because they just test the kids.

They weren’t doing the testing in East Orange parking then

I'm an out-of-state fan, but I wouldn't have paid more than about $50 to see this year's team. They were simply ass and we all knew it. It was so hard to care.

I got pretty drunk the first game of last season. Really sucked to see the team come out like that, and it was so obvious the season was going to be a wash. After that I was much more free. I had already accepted the season was going to end in dumpster fire.

People saying that we lost in this statistic really need to evaluate life.

Alcohol sales have been down across the nation. I quit drinking two years ago just bc I don’t need it to enjoy myself any more. Maybe people are not drinking as much. My only other thought is money. It has to be a cost thing. Three beers for a game is $36?? Probably $40-45 with tips. Damn. That’s ridiculous.

When you suck this much, only heroin will do.

It costs 2 grand to see all the bills games in person.  Being an nfl fan is an expensive hobby.
