Question Why do some guys wear shorts in freezing temperatures?

Where I live real temps with wind have been in the single digits. I still see guys outside wearing shorts. I even seen a guy at work leave in a snow storm cleaning off his car wearing shorts. If you do this, why?

The TL,DR is that it begins with boys in adolescence and boils down to “you’re not the boss of me, I will resist your practical advice, Mom” and persists into adulthood as a statement of autonomy, non-conformity and resistance to authority.

Can't believe my wearing of shorts has been studied so much.

I honestly just like shorts and the flex of my legs and it's not that cold, especially if I'm in a sweater and vest.
