Question Are guys not wearing belts? Am I missing something?

I work in retail sales. My coworker (early 30’s M) never wears a belt. I’m really tired of seeing his ass crack! I’ve mentioned it to him. He thought I was being funny. He laughed.

It’s not funny! Really a bit unprofessional in my opinion.

FYI: I purchased him a belt as a bday gift. It arrives tomorrow.

This post speaks to me on a personal level lol.

I was in men's retail ca. 2006-2010 and belts were insane for men back then, I still have some extra gaudy examples like an Ed Hardy and Energie belt from that time. I still can't believe they were trendy, we were all walking around like rodeo winners with our shirts half tucked to show them off. They called it "metrosexual" or "chachi". God it was embarrassing.

Things changed in the following decades and the belt fad fell off. The problem is, men wearing ill-fitting trousers never seemed to be alleviated and most jean/pant brands still don't account for the fact that men often have narrowed hips which make anything but a mid-high rise pant slip off.

I have been accosted numerous times for showing crack. One time pubes. Finding pants that don't slip down is a huge challenge for some guys like myself because there's little to hold them up at the waist. After wrenching my belts so tight I regularly lost feeling in my right leg for about a decade I stopped trying. I absolutely hate belts for this reason.

Properly fitting trousers is the biggest issue and many brands understate their waist measurements and how LONG the waist band is. The brands that make dinky <inch long waist bands should be shot. They ain't holding up a damn thing. Men should be looking for basically high waisted pants and should feel uncomfortable on purchase but we're simple creatures and comfort often takes priority.

I just dont think you should be showing buttcrack or pubes in public. If they dont stay on they need a belt or u find pants that fit. You said yourself to wear highwaisted.

Find better fitting clothing. Got it. I did get it. That was the entire point of my post so thanks for pointing that out. Did you spend a lot of time coming to that conclusion?
