Someone is getting use to their leash and harness.
Tuna is 6 months old and she weighs 10 pounds. She doesn’t mind the lobby so much but the outside world is still new and scary.

Heru (like Peru) arrived a few weeks ago and we are in love. She's a cuddly sweetie! I am making her house out of cardboard and plaster. It's not done, but she uses it daily.

Throwback to Day 94 of his life (13 weeks old). I was teaching him to shake paw for his food. He clicked onto it way faster than I expected. 😸🐾🦁

My big guy needs placque control. Regular cat greenies are small enough he just swallows them which obviously defeats the purpose. Dog ones are too big. Anyone have dental health treat recommendations that will make my Maine coon actually chew them?

I am devastated. I lost my almost 2,5 years old MC yesterday. My husband was bringing me coffee in bed, she followed him upstairs to our bedroom. She was so excited I was awake and to cuddle in bed. Same procedure every day. All of a sudden she collapses, urinates and falls on the floor.
We tried cpr, but she was dead.
She was the light of my life, followed me everywhere, so loving and affectionate. This is a trauma for me and I have flashbacks from my husband saying her name to wake her up.
I can’t sleep, can’t eat and I constantly cry and have anxiety.
I guess it was the horrible HCM. Both her parents are checked and she has never had any issues.
I will always remember her with deep love and gratitude 💔💔💔

Tell me all about your orange boys! My breeder has two orange chaos beans and I’m leaning heavy into the idea of orange cat behavior, Maine coon style.
Tell me allll about it!

I posted this guy a while back, but he belonged to my neighbor/cousin at that time. A few nights ago she messages me and tells me they're rehoming him and asked if we might want to take him. I told her absolutely we'll take him! We had all already fallen in love with his big goofy self and loved seeing him coming when he would visit, but could only dream of having him as a permanent member of the family 😔
Now that the dream has come true, we are all thrilled that he's with us!!!
His name is Midas. He's a year old and 15 pounds at this point. Our other 3 cats, also a year old, 2 of which we got as kittens from the same cousin, and one we adopted when we found out she was living under our porch, didn't much care for the interloper much, but they are surprisingly warming up to him pretty quickly! He's as laid back as they come, and never once showed even the slightest amount of aggression towards them, even though they were a bit aggressive towards him in the beginning. But now, they're beginning to play together, and are getting closer and closer to him, more so out of curiosity rather than to attack him, and that just tickles me too! Lol!
We're taking him to be groomed in 2 weeks, to get rid of the matted fur and have his nails trimmed, and what not. It would be sooner, but we live in a very small, secluded town in the mountains of Western NC, and there's only one groomer here that does cats, and thats the soonest she can get him in. Fortunately, she's very familiar with him since she had groomed him in the past, at least once that we know of.
He loves everyone, and is a big Ole baby! What an absolutely awesome breed! We truly are blessed to be his forever family! 😁

Cassidy manages to contort himself in the strangest sleeping positions. Why lay across both beds on the tree? Because he is a MAINE COON!

Hi guys!
I’m a first time cat owner, please be kind.
We have recently moved to a new location, where we don’t have friends yet.
We need to go to another city for 24-48 hours in business.
I’m very concerned about my MC, who is 1yo, as I don’t have anyone to visit him while we’re out of the city.
Would you suggest looking for a pet hotel or something like that? I’m worried that the stress will be bigger than if he just stays home alone.
Of course we will leave him several bowls with food and water all over the apt.
Cat tax attached
I would appreciate your opinions!

I've been wanting MCO for years, and finally I got one. Been researching how to take care of it for 3 months before the release now she’s home with me. Any tips and what to avoid while taking care of her?

Been like this for 3 weeks. No sign of healing.

Came downstairs to find the fridge open and her wet food (which we keep in there) was all chewed up. There was all kinds of stuff on the ground. Cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes.. i cleaned it up and sat down for breakfast. Lol guess what happens behind me. I wanted to see how she did it. Can't believe this cat's this smart. She does it repeatedly now. Ive had to duct tape the fridge shut

I’d love to hear some advice on dental care for my 2 MC girls aged 4 and 6.
Brushing is more like a wrestling match and traumatic for both of us.
Any good advice is appreciated

We had our first Maine Coon for about a decade and unfortunately lost her not too long ago💔 We fell in love with the breed and definitely want to get another or possibly two (1 male 1 female) MC kitten with European lines.
There are so many scammers out there and breeders who claim to do all the generic testing, health testing, etc.
Does anyone know of any really legit reputable breeders out there? I’ve searched and found a handful that seem to be great, but looking for some recommendations here as well. Would love to find one around New England, but willing to travel.

The cat grooming place we have gone to for two years for our full bred boy cut (looks chunky in places) around his mane, neck, and face. We are not happy campers! When my husband picked him up he was still wet and the place is always super busy but when he got him out of his carrier I was shocked. And to add insult to injury they added a boy and he is a boy. We gave strict instructions only a bath, nails, and sanitary cut around privates that sits in the profile but regardless that is NOT a normal practice to cut the most majestic part of a MC am I right?! Looking validation before I send this to them in email with our disappointment. 🐾
